There is a constant connection between man and nature in this park. My structure aims to become part of this pattern. The upper panels mimic the leaves and branches, reaching out to the canopy. The floor plan reaches out to the stream and field similarly.

ROWHOUSES
PROTOTYPE 2 family w/ young children
PROTOTYPE 1 young couple, live/work
PROTOTYPE 1 3-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom 2,143.75 SF 42.9 units/acre young couple, live/work office, garage, balconies
In designing a set of rowhouses and an apartment building, I studied the two housing types comparatively. I found that both types can work well, but depending on the context of the site, one might be better suited. Density and diversity should be combined, not treated separately.
APARTMENTS
(4) 3-bedroom, (6) 2-bedroom, (12) 1-bedroom 960 SF, 768 SF, 576 SF 22 apartments / 156 units/acre private balconies, lobby, common space, rooftop deck

CIRCULATION
This site required a novel take on low-density urban housing. We focused on bringing people into our block with cohesive open spaces among 4 rowhouses and 8 apartment units. The complex is meant to engage the public and allow for gathering with 3 community spaces, a public cafe, artist maker space, and an art gallery. The courtyard is the core of the complex, second to the green roof.

W LAFAYETTE AVE NOW
S BROADWAY AVE (FELLS POINT)
CAN LAFAYETTE AVE BECOME A SUCCESSFUL “MAIN STREET”?
Using the existing Urban Green Network as a stimulus for change, this project focuses on the research for and culmination of redevelopment plans for these struggling neighborhoods. Research into the existing conditions of the area led my team to develop three connected intervention plans. These plans concentrate on connecting the neighborhoods to each other and the surrounding areas through green initiaties, as well as bring jobs, job training, and food to a largely unoccupied residential food desert.

GREEN ECONOMY
The design aims to revitalize the neighborhoods by introducing job opportunities with the implementation of an aquaponic system where residents and young adults can learn the systems in a building that also provides housing and a learning institution. With a market as well, we hope to create a learning and commercial hub in Sandtown-Winchester and Harlem Park. GREEN PLAZA GREEN PLAZA CONNECTOR

This space brings the art of music and science of technology together in harmony. Two concepts so different work as one. The schools will collaborate to create something new, with spaces to intertwine the areas of learning on the first and second floors, along with professional offices on the floors above.

MUSIC SCHOOL
The building takes its form from its context, following the datum of the surrounding buildings along Read St at an angle of five degrees to reveal the spectacular church to the east. The five-degree angle on Read St is met with several angled rooms on the interior, but also with a formal 90-degree grid within the rest of the building. This grid begins to bring a physicality to the tension between arts and sciences in this building, while showing they can still mesh.
SECOND FLOOR PLAN
The gathering space and auditorium are both double height, welcomed by a second gathering space open to both spaces below. A secondary outdoor perfor-mance space sits above the technology school, beside the third-floor office spaces.
