Firstly, a very warm welcome everyone from Risborough.

Congratulations to Jake Baldwin on making his 100th appearance for the Dynamos on Saturday. Jake is truly ‘One of our own’ having progressed from our U18 side. Jake has given us so many memories to enjoy, but for me personally none more great than the hat-trick away at Broadfields last season, each strike was wonderful in its own right. Here’s to the next 100 games Jake!

Tonight we welcome back some only faces those being lead by Kieron Schmidt and Harry Scott on the playing side and Ex Dynamos manager Paul Bonham on the coaching side. Welcome back chaps, lets hope you don’t enjoy the evening too much!

We will have a number of games down Haywood way in the coming weeks, along with the first team the Devs and U18’s still have over half their season to play at home, so please come down and get a glimpse of our talented youngsters on their journey to the first team.

Welcome to the committee, management, players and fans of Risborough Rangers FC for this Spartan South Midlands Premier Division league game.

This is only our second home game since December and it is great being able to finally get back playing at Haywood Way.

We have been very satisfied with the start to our tenure as managers of Aylesbury, a high turnover of players and a new bunch buying into our ideas. We set an internal target when we took over of 2 points per league game. We are currently on 27 points from our 14 league games, including 14 points from our last 6 games. We are there or thereabouts at where we wanted to be at this stage. The next objective is to break into the top 10 and then see if we can progress from that.

Player wise we are delighted to welcome Cam Cook and Justin Griffith into the squad. Cam has signed from Newport Pagnell and was involved in their FA Vase run. Justin is playing over here from America; both look like good additions to the squad and are great characters.

Looking back at the Colney Heath game, we learnt a lot about our squad and the bench came on and won us the game. Cam settled us in possession which gained us more control and Curtis Brown scored a goal of the season contender to put the game to bed.

We are under no illusion today that this is a very tough game, Risborough have a squad full of talent and finished runners up in the league last season and should be playing step 4. This game will show us how far we have come in a short period of time or how much more work is needed to compete at the level we want to be at.

Enjoy the game.

Aylesbury ValeDynamos is an amalgamation of Aylesbury FCand Bedgrove Dynamos, two local clubs with arich history in local football. Aylesbury FC enjoyed alonghistory in seniorand juniorfootball datingback to the 1930’s underthe previous names of Aylesbury Vale, Haywood United, Belgrave, Stocklakeand Negretti and Zambra FC, which was founded in the 1930’s by workers atthe Negretti and Zambracompany then based in London’s KingCross district. The company moved to the Stocklake Industrial Estate, Aylesbury.

in 1949 and by the mid 50’s the premises had abar, football, cricketand tennis facilities. The football club joined the Aylesbury DistrictLeague in 1954. The social club changed its name to Stocklake when Negrettiand Zambra sold the premises to the local council, who then leased the facilities;hence the differentsections adopted the name Stocklake. Underthe guidance of Chairman MrErnie Crotty, the club gained many honours including runners up in ADL’s top divisions, beforegainingintermediatestatus in the Wycombe and DistrictLeague first and seniordivisions. Sadly Ernie was killed in aroad accidentjustbefore the club moved premises to the present location atHaywood Way in 1987.

Aftergainingseniorstatus and promotion to the Chiltern League in 1988, Stocklake enjoyed many further successes includingDivision One runners up in 1991, PremierDivision and League Cup runners up the following season and Wycombe SeniorCup success in 1995. Cup success was also followed on in the followingseason, this time the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup beingadded to the trophy cabinet. BelgraveFCwas formed in 1983 by Jim Sullivan who lived in nearby Belgrave Road. Jim had two sons who were passionate aboutfootballbut were limited to where they could play, so formed ateam himself with the help of neighbours Lynne and David Hatcher. By 1990, underthe guidance of Danny Martone, Belgrave had grown to five youth teams providing football foroverninety boys fromthe Quarrendon and Haydon Hill areas of Aylesbury. 1996 saw the formingof two seniorteams underthe Belgrave FC name and by the turn of the millennium teams were represented atall levels fromUnder8’s through to seniors,

At the start of the 2000/2001 season, the seniorBelgrave FC team was renamed Haywood United followingan amalgamation with Stocklake FCwith Danny Martone voted in as chairman of the new club. Haywood United joined the Spartan South Midlands League and won promotion into Division One aftertwo seasons. Notable achievements duringthe 2001/2002 season included league awards forthe bestkeptand mostimproved ground;this included the erection of floodlights and perimeterfencing, which Danny and his hard working committee foughthard to establish. Season 2002/2003 saw a difficultstartin Division One, butwith the arrival of managerJon Franklin and his assistantKeith WalkerjustafterChristmas, the club eventually consolidated finishingin 9th place. Promotion was gained to the South Midlands PremierDivision the followingyearaftera campaign thatsaw 23 wins, 7 draws and only 4 losses. Haywood United proved themselves capable of stayingin the PremierDivision afterfinishing3rd in the 2004/2005 season in a campaign thatonly include one loss in the twenty matches afterChristmas. The club also entered the FA Cup and Vase forthe firsttime and won the BuckinghamCharity Cup in 2006.

Season 2006/2007 began with Haywood United becoming Aylesbury Vale FC and saw Keith Walkerand Steve Gleinstertake overas joint managers and steadily build asquad. This wasrecognised in the 2008/2009 season, underthe managementof Mark Eaton, with a good cup run in the FA Cup and FA Vase, winningthree rounds in the FA Cup losingto Level 4 side Gosport aftera replay, and losingoutin the 4th round of the FA Vase to Leiston Town. . AfterChristmas the side suffered due to longterm injuries and finished mid table. May 2009 saw a major new developmentin anew semi professional sidevote foraname change. Aylesbury FootballClub was formed underthe leadership of Chairman RogerDance and assisted by Vice Chairman Danny Martone

We were finally knocked outof the competition by Wealdstone in aclose game. A brave and superb display was witnessed by abumpercrowd of 800 plus.

Meanwhile, away fromthe midstof F.A. Bedgrove Dynamos

Alf Buckland, aresidentof FinmereCrescent, formed Bedgrove Dynamos in 1968. It was created to fill avoid in activities forboys within the Bedgroveareaon the south side of Aylesbury. In 1980, Dave Bayliss became involved when he broughthis Cub side to the Bedgrove Park. The teams amalgamated and Dave wenton to be the chairman for 21 years, steppingdown in the year2000. Within two years and barely a full strip between them, they managed notonly to win the Under12's Aylesbury &DistrictLeague (ADL), butwenton to win the 13's & 14's league in consecutive years and, by which time, they now had fourteams at various age groups.

Overthe years the club has grown and has won many tournaments and trophies, especially atcounty level. Many teams have toured abroad and the club has also entertained boys fromEurope and America. We can boostthat we are the only boys club to have a club pennanton display in Barcelona's trophy room. At the start of the season 2001/02 the club was the largestjuniorclub in the Aylesbury area, runningteams from under8's through to under18's. Atthe end of the season 2001/02 the club managed to win the coveted Berks and Bucks Cup at under14's, the Mayor's Cup at under12's, represented in two othercup finals, won 3league titles, gained 6promotions in total and all teams finished in the top 6 to the fairplay awards fortheirrespective leagues. In the last20 seasons across the age groups the club has won 25 divisionaltitles, and runners up 20 times.

In 2019 two became one when the sides amalgamated with the intention of allowingthe youth of the town to progress through juniorfootball to youth and then adultfootballand play atthe highestpossible level.

Won 4, Drawn 2….that is the last 6 games for Dynamos who are clearly on the up.

Jake Baldwin was playing his 100th game for Dynamos 1st team, which is a fantastic achievement for our former U18’s Dynamo.

Dynamos new American Muscle Man, Justin Griffith, had also had international clearance and was hoping for his debut from the bench.

The first Dynamos attack saw Rosner collecting a pass back from Abu and he swung in a decent cross onto the head of Lambeth but he didn’t connect properly and the ball went harmlessly wide.

On the other flank Jackson was proving a handful again and he had a cross fall to Lambeth but his snap shot went wide. Great start from Dynamos.

13 minutes and another half chance for Dynamos. Attwell brought the ball out from the back and played into Abu’s feet, he flicked into the path of Lamboh and he steadied himself and fired a low shot wide of the upright.

Lamboh then became the creator as his cross was left by Lambeth but Jackson got under his shot and it went over the bar.

21 minutes and Attwell was adjudged to have fouled a Heath player in the box and the referee awarded a penalty against the run of play. However, the penalty hit the post and Rosner was first to react and clear for a throw. Just over half an hour played and Heath created a decent opportunity but Jones was equal to it, tipping it behind for a corner. Attwell rose the highest to clear the corner and Lamboh completed the clearance. Before the break, Rosner got a yellow card for throwing the ball away and Heath thought they had scored the opener when a free kick went through everyone, including Jones, and Lambeth made a superb goal line clearance from under the cross bar…great defending…from the striker.

Half time: Colney Heath 0-0 AVDFC

Antonio Ianelli was subbed off at half time and Cam Cook came on into the heart of the midfield.

Lambeth won an early corner and Deall swung the ball into the box. It was cleared as far as Baldwin who was fouled. Deall was on free kick duty today and his effort went just wide of the near post. Dynamos looked in control.

A Heath player was then sin binned for dissent towards the referee, giving Dynamos 10 mins against 10 men.

On the hour mark a decent cross from Baldwin was headed goalbound by Lambeth but the keeper saved well for a corner. Deall’s corner was headed well over by Attwell. Dynamos still looked the better team.

Another decent Rosner cross saw Abu free at the back post but his header didn’t have the power to beat the keeper…it was coming…

63 minutes and Charlie Jackson was subbed off, making way for Curtis Brown. A few minutes later and Dynamos took the lead. Attwell brought the ball out of defence and found the ever-willing Lamboh with some space. He expertly threaded the ball into the feet of Abu who turned his man and hit a low shot past the keeper. 0-1 Dynamos.

76 minutes and Abu collected a ball out and squared to Curtis Brown, 30 yards out and he hit an absolute quality shot on goal, but the keeper dived and saved it.

About a minute later Rosner won a header and it fell to Curtis Brown, he controlled and ran forward. 35 yards out he decided to have another shot…this one was even better and the rocket of a shot hit the back of the net…WOW, goal of the season contender right there. Fantastic. 0-2 Dynamos!!!

A couple of minutes later Lambeth went off and Lewis Workman came on up top. On 84 minutes Abu Khan was taken off and replaced by Jet Dyer. Both teams were trying to push for a goal but no real clear cut chances came. With a minute of injury time played, Justin Griffith made his debut, replacing Evans Lamboh to see the game out.

Final score: Colney Heath 0-2 AVDFC

Finally the lads were able to get back on the pitch after more than 2 months in a “holding pattern” first up was Luton Town (Cedars) who had played both 18’s & 19’s games in the run up to our game, with a number of their key players returning, this proved to be a stiff test, on what was a good surface at Haywood Way. One of the benefits in introducingVeo this season is the access to the stats and analytics tools, certainly highlighted a number of areas to review after the game. With 72% possession, 22 shots at goal to 5, passing strings at a high rate and possession won (tackles/forced errors) a single point and no goals to show from a game we dominated in large parts was disappointing. A number of good performances though with a couple of great stops from Will Hamm in the only shots on target for the opposition, still, with games in hand it was frustrating but a lot of good stuff bearing in mind the lads were in competitive hibernation. This meant our game v Leverstock Green away took on extra significance as 3 points were an absolute must.

A very even 1st half, against a much improved Levy Green, showing aggression and direct play testing out back line who stood up to the physical play, with some great touches from Levy, however no effort on target, we missed 2 golden chances both unchallenged headers from Kenan and Prince the latter hitting the outside of the post from a free kick. Half time and 0-0 Chris, Colin & Martyn made it very clear what was expected 2nd half, a real questioning of their character, to be fair with the exception of a momentary lapse and a soft pen, which Levy scored, it was mostly one way traffic 2nd half, managing the game superbly a great clip in from Amir on the right and a bullet header from Kenan drew us level, 15 mins later and a great bit of athleticism from Loui, hooking the ball back to Jet Dyer 8 yards out smashing a volley high into the net, in all truth the little bit of quality wide and centrally 2nd half was the real difference, 3 hard earned points, 2 games unbeaten and only 1 loss this season.. looking to build momentum as we head into what we know will be an equally hard one v Colney Heath this coming week.

3 points behind league leaders Leighton Town with 2 games in hand with a home game against them looming large within the next 2/3 weeks.. bring it on !!!

Risborough Rangers Football Club started in 1970 as a team of 12-year olds who wanted to play competitive football. The main motivators were Life Presidents Tony Elsey and Derek Wallace. Derek was instrumental in forming the Wycombe Star League that now provides football for hundreds of youngsters in the Wycombe area, and Risborough Rangers currently have teams at all ages ranging from the Under 10 to Under 16 playing in this league. In the 1975/76 season, the previous years Under 16's went into the Wycombe & District League as a men's team, and in their second season in adult football won the 3rd Division. Unfortunately, the team then folded, after which the club provided only boy's football until the Under 16's of 1979/80, having won the United-Carr Cup, went into the Reading Youth League for two seasons, and then the Wycombe & District League. They won promotion in successive seasons and were followed two years later by the following years Under 16's as a reserve team, who emulated the feats of their predecessor, ending up in the Ercol Senior League and the FA Walters Premier League consecutively. At around this time, Rangers moved to 'Windsors', their current ground. 'Windsors' had been the home of the now defunct Princes Risborough Town FC who were one of the founder members of the Hellenic league in 1953. Within several years, club members had managed to improve the ground substantially by building the clubhouse. In 1989 Risborough accepted an invitation to join the South Midlands League Division 1. In the first two seasons the club found the level difficult and finished second from the bottom and therefore had to apply for re-election. The 1991/92 season saw a great improvement when Risborough finished in 8th position whilst also celebrating its 21st anniversary. In the 1994/95 season, they were promoted to the newly formed Senior Division, after finishing 4th under the management of Frank Carter and they consolidated with a mid-table position in the next season. In the mid-90s, Bob Rayner became manager for the first time and saw the establishment of a sound youth policy with an Under 18's team in the Wycombe & South Bucks Youth League. After a reasonably successful spell, in which the club reached the semi-final of the Senior Division Cup and the quarter final of the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy, Bob was offered the job of Brackley Town manager in the Southern league and took the opportunity to test himself at a higher level. After Bob left at the start of the 1998/99 season, former assistant Jon Franklin took over as manager and maintained a consistent level of football at the club. After Jon’s' departure, the club began to struggle and were eventually relegated to Division Two. In 2005, chairman Richard Woodward persuaded Bob Rayner to return to the club following his departure from Thame United. Finishing fourth in his first two seasons back and just missing out on the runners up spot in the final game in the second season, Bob has had to rebuild his side from the Rangers junior ranks. He has patiently waited for his young side to blossom and the patience began to pay off in the 2010/11 season when Rangers achieved a fifth-place finish and reached the semifinal of the Challenge Trophy, losing 2-0 to the eventual winner and Premier Division champions, Chalfont St Peter. On route to the semi-final, Rangers beat four teams from divisions above them including division one champions Berkhamsted Town. The 2011/12 season was Risborough's best season of late with a late charge securing runners up spot in the league, and a first cup final reached in over 20 years, losing the Anagram Records Trophy final 1-0 to Baldock Town of the Hertfordshire County Senior League. The next season brought two good cup runs. Risborough's progress in the Anagram Record's Trophy was halted in the Semi Final by Baldock Town. The rematch of the previous season’s final ended up with the same score line as Baldock went on to defend the trophy. A second cup final in two years was achieved via the Division 2 cup, although the prospect of lifting the cup once again alluded Rangers, this time losing 2 nil to Aston Clinton. A league finish of fourth was achieved, and with the hard work off the pitch, including securing the funding for floodlights which were erected in time for the 2012/13 season.

In 2016 Risborough finally won some silverware, after several near misses over the last few years. The Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup was claimed after a 2-1 AET win over United Counties League Olney Town. 2016/17 season saw Bob Rayner retire and his son Jamie take charge saw the club finish in a creditable 6th position and reach the semifinals of the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup before losing on penalties to eventual winners Woodley United. The 2017/8 season started with some promise but sadly this didn’t last with the club finishing in 8th place, the highlight of the campaign, however, was a run in the Challenge Trophy which included victories over Premier Division sides Leighton Town, Oxhey Jets, Edgware Town and London Colney, but alas were beaten 3-1 in the Final by fellow Division One side Broadfields United at Colney Heath. In October 2018 then current manager Jamie Rayner decided to step down from his position because of work commitments. The Club advertised the position and after a healthy response, the Board appointed the former Hemel Hempstead Town, Arlesey Town, Leighton Town Aylesbury United, Aylesbury FC boss Mark Eaton as their new man. When Eaton took over the club were 19th in Division One and a massive negative goal difference but come the end of the season Rangers finished in 7th spot with a positive goal difference as the season was turn on it’s head. The season ended though with some silverware when London Lions were defeated 2-0 in the final of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One Cup, which was played at Leverstock Green. Because of the ongoing re-construction of the non-league system the club made a lateral movement to the Hellenic League Division One East from the Spartan for the start of the 2019/20 season. The 2019/20 season saw Rangers unbeaten and top the league by 12 points with a game in hand over 2nd place Abingdon United after playing 23 games out of the full 32. The COVID pandemic put an end to any hopes of promotion to step 5 for the first time in the club’s history however as the season was officially voided. However, in 2021 the club were promoted to the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League based on their results in the abandoned 2019–20 and 2020– 21 seasons. Season 2021/22 saw the club promoted to the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands Football League by the FA based on their results in the abandoned 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons. On the whole it was a very strong debut season at Step 5 with the Club never being outside the top two from the start of October. In a exciting two horse race with New Salamis which culminated in a last day shootout at the B.E.P. Stadium between the teams. New Salamis won the game 2-0 to become Champions and Rangers had to settle for second place, 10 points clear of 3rd placed Hadley. Further disappointment was to follow with the Ground Grading which the Club failed with Hadley taking Rangers place at Step 4.
