It’s only a few weeks since the two sides last met at the end of November – a pulsating 4-4 draw which saw the Ducks come back from 3-0 down after just half an hour to level the game in injury time thanks to Jake Bewley. The topsy-turvy nature of that game is a example of Hertford’s season so far. They are the second highest scorers in the whole division, on 47. But their problem has been letting goals in, conceding 51 and giving them a goal difference of minus four. Striker David Ogbonna, who scored a hat trick against us, has 15 so far, and teammate Jesse Lassen has eight. Their 0-0 draw with AFC Dunstable was their first scoreless game in 504 days, which hopefully proves my point on their potent strikeforce! On Saturday they drew 2-2 against Highworth Town, which is a result that although did rather suit us, meaning neither side pulled too far away from us in the league table.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our collection for our charity parner Aylesbury Foodbank at the game against Cirencester Town. We collected an amazing 200kg of donations – enough for 45 days worth of meals for 10 familes – plus an additional £201 through a bucket collection. This will make such a difference to those in who rely on the Foodbank.

This is the first of four consecutive home ganes, with visits from FC Romania on Saturday, AFC Dunstable next Tueday, and then Hadley coming to The Meadow on Saturday 18 February. We hope to count on your support for these crucial set of games.
