Your Lieutenant Governor Hello Beautiful K– Family, If you don’t already know...It is time to start preparing for DCON. This past month you should have seen a few important things; Call to convention video, official call to convention packets and you should have gone to at least one key club event! If you haven't, don’t worry, there is still time! Just so you know, DCON is $20 less this year and it is going to be 20x better than last year! The theme for DCON is Service to Infinity and Beyond– the fun part of this is, AYN gets to personally help with some of the decorations! For the ones hoping to go to DCON this year, I want you to start thinking of spirit gear you want to have to represent us( Noise makers, t-shirts, tutus, bam bams, or even pompoms!). On another good note, the eliminate project has been very successful lately (turn your money in!) previously 1 baby died every 9 minutes...now, 1 baby dies every ELEVEN minutes! One more thing, I am on the lookout for my innie (Someone to take my position as Lieutenant Governor in March) if you are interested or have questions please email ASAP. I look forward to talking to you Always in Love and Service,

Pay it Forward Lets start a chain reaction of people passionate about doing random acts of kindness. I want people to complete a “random act of kindness and then encourage a stranger to pass on the act of kindness!

Here is a list of pay it forward ideas from the web... 1. Hold the door open for the person behind you 2. Inspire others online. 3. Share your umbrella with a stranger on a rainy day.

4. Check up on someone who looks lonely. 5. Let someone with only a few items cut you in line at the grocery store. 6. Pay for the person in line behind you. 7. Help the weary shopper in front of you who needs that extra two or three cents to avoid breaking a 20-dollar bill. 8. Hug a friend. Let them know how important they are. 9. Send a nice email or handwritten card to someone you know, unexpectedly.

10. If you see a couple taking a self-pic, offer to take the picture for them 11. Leave anonymous thank you notes to teachers. 12. Invite a friend to the movies or dinner. 13. Put change in a vending machine. 14. Buy a meal for a homeless person. 15. Put something you no longer need on craigslist.org for free.

Human trafficking is the trade of humans, most commonly for the purpose of sexual slavery, forced labor on commercial sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others, for use as child soldiers, or for the extraction of organs or tissues, including surrogacy and ova removal.

How you can Help: Raise awareness of human trafficking. Learn and teach others about it and how to recognize it and equip them with tools to make a difference. Helping identify and locate victims of trafficking to advocating for better legislation to teaching other people about trafficking.

More Facts

What is MNT? MNT stands for Maternal Neonatal Tetanus it’s a deadly disease that steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch.

To eliminate MNT from the Earth, more than 100 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation, thousands of skilled staff and more. It will take US$110 million — and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family.

35 countries have Eliminated MNT; 24 Countries have yet to Eliminate!

One Baby dies every 11 minutes from MNT. 134 babies die everyday from MNT.

The Key Club International board challenges each of the 270,000 members to pledge to SAVE THREE BABIES lives by donating $5.40 to the ELIMINATE PROJECT
