Project: Student Hub, Modern Conception in Sidi Bou Said , Tunisia

The brief of this project was to design a university hub near the National School of Architecture and Urban Planning. This project has been designed to answer the needs of students in architecture. Where we’ve noticed a diversity of spaces.

Project:

Hiru

covered

market

in

Ariana,

Tunisia.

Hiru is an indoor market inspired by the Spanish ÂŤmercadoÂť. It is primarily a place where to live around products that come from local market. Fixed stands have been scattered in a vast space.

The complex metal construction of Hiru becomes easy to understand a large-scale structure. Hiru market has several constraints such as the wide opening of natural light, as well as functional use of the market and its architectural stakes in the project.

Several hypotheses have been considered at first sight in order to test different structural systems with respect to established issues. Bow string, pretension and gantry. The portico was screened for structural analysis to optimize its dimensioning.

Bost

Polyfunctional

Building

in

Tunis,

Tunisia

This project is about designing a multifunctional building, a first reflection was on the choice of the program and the last was on the design of a structural detail, in fact, this exercise consisted in treating the project in its different phases. (APS, APD, Execution).

The main intention in designing this building was to off a great visibility in the heart of the city, it is characterized by a bold architecture composed of glass and concrete, composed of superimposed volumes. The openness and transparency that emanate from the atrium maximizes natural lighting.

This building is divided into two parts: - The first part contains all the office activities by creating openings in order to exploit the natural light. - Concerning the second part, it is characterized by transparency; this party receives all commercial activities

Rethinking

the

an

Beylical

thesis. Heri-

residency

in

Marsa North Suburbs, Tunisia

Inspired from contemporary architecture and Tunisian heritage, this essay (project) has been focusing on cultural reflection as a phenomenon of mediation. Taking to former present a new dialogue in urban landscaping. This research is born questioning about duality. The purpose of this reflection is to reconnect The Beylical palace with its neighborhood. Allowing the interaction by the citizens.

Somehow the architectural project aims to revive and enhance a forsaken building. Reconnecting the neighborhood. Creating animation to the district. A contemporary addition, a new function answering previous issues. The architectural intervention is translated by the transformation of the building into artist hub and a community spaces.

Overview of the project

South-east elevation

This project is important to ensure integration by contrast, both with the built heritage and with the urban landscape. As a result, this new dialogue between art, the palace and the city had to take hold in the landscape as an event in the city so that the palace can reinvigorate the city of La Marsa. At the technical level, attention will be paid to the quality of exhibition spaces and public services, as much by the exploitation of natural light as by the dimensions of pieces responding to the diversity that forms contemporary works of art.

The creation of a program within an earlier structure requires a reconsideration of the structure-event equilibrium. Here the roles are reversed, instead of making events through structures, structure makes the event. The existant building becomes an active support, a raw material, a kind of mutation is realized. The task was about cutting-out the old elements and forms while retaining the structure, rethinking and reorganizing them according to the new artist residency unit. The decomposition of the old mass built by the requalification of the blank.
