Established on July 7, 1943 by action of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 640 and the Arizona Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), the Phoenix Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee created an apprenticeship training program to serve the needs of the electrical construction industry. The program is a collaboration of both labor and management, which work together to provide the highest quality training for apprentices in the electrical trade and setting the standards for 8,000 hours of monitored, on-the-job training assignments with its sponsoring employers, complementing more than 900 hours of related classroom training.

COMPANY STRENGTHS: “The standards we set for the electrical contracting industry provide for the highest quality training available. Selected apprentices are afforded the opportunity to earn a state certificate and college credit that can be applied to an associate’s degree. The program is a viable alternative to the traditional college track, with an ‘earn while you learn’ focus.” last year 5
