Jalal Al Sarisi Loses Battle With Covid
The pool world was saddened this week with the loss of another pool player to the Covid virus. Jalal Al Sarisi passed away on April 12th alongside his family in Jordan.
Al Sarisi, originally from Venezuela, had been over in the states earlier this year and had enjoyed a win on the DFW 9-Ball Tour in January, but was back in Jordan when he tested positive for Covid in March.
Al Sarisi’s first sponsor in America was Carlos Sanchez with Clutch Shot Billiards Apparel, and Clutch Shot has helped to create a gofundme campaign to help cover funeral costs for Alsarisi.
“Jalal was the first player we sponsored and he such a great guy” said Sanchez. “Wherever we would go for tournaments, the other players would comment on how intimidating he looked. He was really just a teddy bear though.” Sanchez also said he is working with Al Sarisi’s brother on a tournament to celebrate his memory. “I want to hold a memorial every April in his honor” said Sanchez.
