01 ENMESHED EXPERIENCES Arts School in Culver City

Software Used Rhino, Ladybug, D5 Render, Adobe Photoshop Project Description: Enmeshed Experiences is a visionary project centered on seamlessly integrating the school with its urban surroundings. The design utilizes diverse circulation paths, transforming them into dynamic gallery spaces that facilitate interaction and collaboration among students, faculty, and external critics. By curating rotating exhibits and cultivating a creatively stimulating form and interior partition, the space is purposefully crafted to ignite inspiration among students specializing in Architecture, Film + Sound, and Graphic Design. The project not only fosters a sense of connectivity but also serves as a catalyst for the continuous exchange of ideas within the vibrant tapestry of the urban and educational landscape.

02 BREAKS IN SPACE

Elementary School in the LA Arts District 10

Software Used Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator Project Description: Breaks in Space is a project centered on integrating the school with its urban surroundings. The design utilizes different opportunities to place classrooms and circulation paths based on breaks and pockets of space. The Ground floor serves as the main gathering place or the hearth of the school where the assembly space, reception, and the cafeteria are located. The classrooms are organized by floor and grade level. The lowest grades are on the top floor and the older grades on the second floor. The alley behind the school is used as a community space as well as a recreation area for the students.

03 MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS Interperative Center on Black Hill, Morro Bay

13

Software Used Rhino, Lumion, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop Project Description: Mountains and Valleys is an interperative center in which the form was inspired by the mountains and valleys prevalent on the site and the local area, Black Hill, Morro Bay. The “peaks” of the building are meant to resemble the mountains and the linear form is meant to resemble the valleys. The interperative center is made up of 4 main programs, the Cafe, Educational Gallery, Conference Room, and Hiker Accomodation. I focused on creating a dynamic open space on the interior and the exterior acts as an extension of the nearby hiking path.

4 MAIN BUILDING MASSES: THE BUILDING IS MADE UP OF 4 RECTANGULAR PRISMS, EACH UNIFORM IN SIZE

HORIZONTAL EXTENSION: THE MASS IS THEN PULLED HORIZONTALLY BASED ON THE CONTOURS OF THE SITE AND TO MAXIMIZE SUNLIGHT IN THE GALLERY

VERTICAL COMPRESSION: THE MASS IS COMPRESSED DOWN TO ALLOW FOR CIRCULATION ON TOP OF THE BUILDING ACTING AS A EXTENSION TO THE EXISTING HIKING PATHS

VERTICAL EXTENSION: THE MASS IS FINALLY EXTENDED VERTICALLY TO MAXIMIZE VIEWS AND TO CREATE A MORE DYNAMIC FORM

19

Software Used Rhino, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop Project Description: Acquatecture is a public bathhouse with an edice that is expressive of water, water-ness, or wetness With a primary focus on form and circulation. The circulation program was inspired by a flowing river, where the long corridors symbolize the flowing water and the short corridors signify the breaks where the river ends or diverges. The bathhouse has Cold and Hot Pools, Biking Parking, and Locker Rooms. The project not only fosters a sense of connectivity but also serves as a catalyst for community building.

05 SPATIAL MEDIATORS Edge and Spatial Study

Software Used Rhino, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator Project Description: Spatial Mediators focuses on light and shadow. The form creates unique pockes of light created by the undulated roof and the slits in the exterior facade. Using slanted members along the inside to guide the path the visitor would take to immerse themselves in the project. The entire form emulates a fluid, waterlike form created by two mirrored wave walls.
