REFLECTION Experience and thoughts
DESIGN STATEMENT Soy waxy is designed with the intention of opening up a space in which people can have a close experience with the production and activities of soy related products in a creative and interactive environment. The site location marries between outdoor nature and modern lifestyles. Making it a suitable location to introduce a space that combines the natural essense of soy (vegetarian) products and the complex machinery used in the production line. The space encloses a modern industrial ambience with its black iron piping connections along with a soothing and natural aura from the earthy tones used in the interior, complimenting the creation of soy based products that carry aromatic fragnance. Earthy tones convey kindness and connection to nature and communicate positive impact on the planet. Layout of the space consists of curves and circular designs inspired by the organic shape of soy beans. Soywaxy compromises major spaces and minor spaces, further divided into private, semi-private and public spaces. Closer to the entrance are public spaces, while semi-private and private spaces are further inside to ensure proper space flow hierarchy. Furthermore, the abundance of sunlight recieved by the space makes it feasible to have a space with greenery incorporated in the design.

PROJECT 2: ZOOM IN ‘Interior Space Walkthrough’ Timeframe: Week 12 – Week 14
This semester has been a very fruitful and valuable semester for me. Regardless of having some major setbacks during the first project, it provided me with motivation to work harder and efficiently to produce better outcomes and improve my results. From a designing point of view, through these projects I got the opportunity to develop a better understanding of how to, and the importance of having a strong relation between the narrative and the design of the space itself. A stronger comprehension of design language, consistency, as well as keeping in mind practicality when designing, are among several other takeaways from this semester. All things considered, this semester has taught me a lot about design as well as having a certain discipline with work to produce constant progress. Sleepless nights, consistent stress and attaining the lower back of an 80 year old from all the sitting, all seems worth it in the end when you get to compile all your work and present it. Besides, designing gives satisfaction and happiness even during hectic timelines. I convey my endless gratitude to our lecturers Ms Norji, Ms Macy and my tutor for the semester, Ms Yasmin for the insightful guidance, feedback and words of encouragement.
