PRECEDENT FOR INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR INTERACTION Las Americanas SOL-IL https://www.dezeen.com/2019/07/29/las-americas-so-il-leon-mexico-affordable-housing/ Affordable housing located in Mexico that designs outdoor spaces to serve as points of interaction for neighbors. "A collection of shared patios along a public staircase creates opportunities for community-building and offers the residents the ability to socialise and enjoy the outdoor space," the SOL-IL team said.

CREATING SPACE Utilizing Mass to Create Intentional Spaces Example: Figure Eight Shape In plan, the building is shaped like a figure eight, with sculpted bars wrapped around two interior courtyards. Units are placed along exterior corridors that overlook both landscaped courtyard spaces. The intent was to develop a prototype scheme in which affordable homes are stacked atop each other, which it describes as "intra-urban vertical housing" that creates a central space for interactions to occur.

PRECEDENT FOR MODULAR PROGRAM Beyond the Shell Lianje Wu https://www.dezeen.com/2019/06/03/deliberately-unfinished-affordable-housing-by-lianjie-wu-mini-living-video/

These modular units were created with the intent of of becoming flexible spaces that can occupy different family or occupancy types. Units can expand and be multistorey, with differe sized private and public spaces stacked upon one another to allow maximum flexibility. Spaces are created without amenities inside to allow said space to be a lot cheaper than if it w fully furnished; distinguishing the line of how furbished a space should be.

UNIT PROGRAM Creation of Pubic and Private Space Flexible Space Creation of units starts from one small module and then expands to fit the needs of the occupants that will be inhabiting the space. The addition of space will add to the cost of the unit, but the baseline unit will alot the amount of space a single or married occupancy user would need.
