_06 BUS STOP
UNIVERSAL BUS STOP With the vibrant development of most countries nowadays, public facilities play a vital role in fulfilling daily basis and human needs. Facilities such as bus stop, though were among the best option for the community, is being more and more neglected than the other modern public transportations. Bus stop has always been underreate in term of its design, functionality, role and its sustainability although it serves as the mos prominent part for this public transportation. There are some issues that should be considered in order to design a bus stop: which are security, comfortability, cleanliness, directory informationand user-friendly. The security should be tightened due to the increasing number of crimes. For instance, snatch-thieving cases that usually happen at the bus stop. Besides tha, comfortability should be improvised especially in terms of design and location. Under cleanliness issues, more facilities should be added such dustbins, The directory information must be comprehensive by including details of the bus routes and other important information. Based on the observation, most of the buses are pretty much not disabled-friendly. Besides adding ramp, the idea of introducing sensor for blind people should be highlighted. Lastly, the bus stop provides spaces to accomodate bicycles for the convenience of the society. Based on the issues mentioned, we are able to come out with a design concept for the bus stop. Our concept highlighted the importance of ‘Fundamental Prediction’. Fundamental means great significance or entailing major change, something that is essential for a system or onject. Whereas predilection symbolizes the human’s basic necessity to enhance their quality of life . In a nutshell, with the new proposed design, the bus stop can encourage the public to use the buses as the main mode of transportation.
