Competition - Encouragement Prize, 2011 - Jakarta, ID In collaboration with Adlina Baridwan, Client: Jakarta Historical Museum Council Public Space
At the end of 2011, I was collaborted with Adlina Baridwan for a competition.The program is to revitalize the field area in front of Fatahillah Museum. The proposal took us into top 5 finalist of the design entry. The proposal was presented to the Jakarta Historical museum Council and awarded as encouragement prize. The Fatahillah Park was a heritage building site back to the Dutch decolonization era in north of Jakarta. The condition today was likely to lose and not represent the energy of urban living in the capital today. This proposal have goal to make this area more lively with many activites of people these days. In order to change the spatial of this huge field park, we substract a geometrical shape to create a multi-level space. We call it push and pull, where the are space extrude above and below the exist floor. The created space may creat an affordance of several activity, people also can define the undefinable space.
Academic Course, 2011 - Jakarta, ID - Prof. Emirhadi Suganda Design Center / Commercial
Furniture factory is proposal for Jakarta Design District in Palmerah, East Jakarta. The total developing area is 8 ha divided by 12 plots, which have all programs for exhibiton, office and leisure area for design event purpose. The scenario of the area took part as host for the Jakarta Design Week. The Building was filled a 3600 m2 area of a stack block exposed concrete. The form was extracted by modulating box like a tetris block games. The lower floor use as showroom and retal space for design product and furniture, with cafe and art gallery in the upper level. The issue of the site is lack of interconnectivity between the area for human and transport to flow. An idea to functionalize the connection between train station, busway, highway, and Jakarta Design District itself. The box in certain level was reduced to use as access, therefore the can integrated with the surroundings in terms of flow.

Joint Design-Build Workshop, 2012 - Jakarta, ID - Prof. Akiko Okabe In collaboration with Kyoto University and Chiba University Leisure
Urban neighborhoods of high density in Asian Megacities have various problem as living environment. The workshop held to develop the alternative way of strategic intervention and propose the future vision which is different from the slum clearance and redevelopment by modern city planning method. The aim is to let local people notice the value of river which is used as a sewage now, the development is expected to realize the shelter at the foot of bridge crossing river. In this workshop, we have interest with the small river which have important role to the kampung as the main orientation for housing. Therefore, we develop research about riverside space and activity in that place. The main issue is the lack of space for kids to playing around, mostly they occupy the narrow street as playing area. We took the idea of using the river as the alternative space.

At night I can’t sleep tight because a colony of musquito attack me, they nested in the river
I would be really happy if there is more space for us tp play I hope people not throwing , garbage to the river again

Sou Fujimoto Architects - 2011/2012 - Belgrade, SR Partner in charge : Sou Fujimoto - Project Manager : Sacha Favre Museum / Cultural Center
21st century is akin to a cloud where continuity and totality co-exist. Beton Hala Waterfront Center is a cloud-like hub, which connects Beton Hala, Fortress, Kalemegden Park, Sava river, the ferry terminal, tram, bus and urban district. The central plaza shaped by the bridge connects the surroundings. The project is 20,000m2 mixed-use commercial development situated by the Sara river of Belgrade, Serbia. The project is organized by the Urban Planning Institute of Belgrade, initiated from an International Design Competition. I involve in this project at the post-design stage, in the end of 2012. Mostly, I was responsible with producing and developing the plan drawings. Recently, we trying to reduce as much slope as possible to bring more view inside. Regard to the signifďŹ cant change, we need to rematch and adjust the drawings as following the latest form for the preliminary design document.

At the heart of the site is articulated by the ring shaped bridge, extending from the surrounding, allowing a smooth access to the commercial and exhibition spaces. The ring shaped also play a key part as an observation deck, providing a breathtaking panorama. The new facade generated in this site, roots from the cloud oating Beton Hala, the historical building.
The overall form follows the landscape to respect the view from the Sara River to the castle wall. In addition, placing the parking underground and keeping the height of the building above ground low, a smooth continuity of the dynamic landscape from the site to the castle is maintained.

City in the cloud
This proposal was part of the Milano Expo 2014 event for representing Japan Pavillion in Italy. The idea was developing space which have cloud-scape quality. The program of the pavilllion was a tea house in the cloud. The pavillion consist 4 storey level with different size of massive void in circle shape. Five different form of tea house was put in the center of pavillion, each of them have different height, shape and color. Red, Black, Yellow, Blue, and White was the main color that use traditionally in Japan. The pavillion also contains exhibitioan area and cafe. In this project, I work as part in the design team. Mostly, I work on producing the study model. The office was invited for this competititon, include four others japanese architect firm. At end of December, the jury announced our proposal didn’t won the Japan Pavillion for the milano Expo 2014.

Sou Fujimoto Architects - 2012/2013 - Rome, IT Partner in charge : Sou Fujimoto - Project Manager : Tim Bacheller Temporary Exhibition / Expo
This project was a part of an exhibiton by Fondazione Maxxi, Rome. Our proposal is for an Energy Station like a large tree. Like the way a tree brings together many different living things, this place brings together many people and other creatures. In this place, light, wind, and rich vegetation mix with the activity of many different people, vehicles, insects and animals, forming the complexity of the 21st century Energy Station. The concept of movement in the Modern era has been a study in functionality and rationality. This kind of motion is formed by the basic assumption of the importance of efficiency: ‘the shortest distance / shortest time’. The future motion that we are thinking of is more like Brownian movement, a form of movement filled with complexity. This new rich form of movement is motion based on the valuation of ‘variable routes / comfortable time’. We create an Energy Forest in Rome, a city with many historical buildings. With a scale similar to communication places such as the Coliseum or the Rvoman Forum, the energy station can be seen as a contemporary space. Combining the qualities of ‘road’ and ‘place’, our proposal creates a new flow for the streets of Rome, enlivening the various activities of its people. We deploy Energy Forest in the sky above a giant pedestrian junction in Shibuya, Tokyo. The Energy Forest intertwines shops, station, road, vehicles and people, creating a spiral of activity. Inviting the various flows of people, it creates a comfortable resting environment and a refueling space filled with vegetation.
