ADAPTIVE CAPACITY LIVING Georgetown, Penang one of recognized world heritage site by UNESCO. Georgetown rich with the heritage city wall effect as the street give different essence and memories. By engage focusing in heritage value, the community who living Georgetown as less attention given. They start to search alternative way of living cause reducing density resident in Georgetown. Adaptive capacity living come as pilot solution by improve density, resilient, and allowed the community reshaping the city. A new resident city is created by layering the original city. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s come by amalgamate between heritage city and resident city. Sky city were created above roof level that focusing more in resident will conduct better potential setting to the existing heritage city. This concept will be achieved by modulating space accordingly to the need and spaces. The aim was to preserve the status heritage city of Georgetown on extension living that will later become pilot solution of evolving way of living in the heritage city. Not only maintain the UNESCO world heritage status but improve potential density of vibrant community together. The idea of extension living space in culture is widely in Malaysia. Expansion in space gives flexibility of the house that can be extend and addition of space cause by easy method of assemble and reassemble. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s come in modular concept by extending rumahibu (main house) to rumahdapur (kitchen), selang (passage) anjung (covered porch) serambi (balcony) and others. This expansion modular concept expand and evolve as per way of living for example nowadays a complete house come with bedroom and toilet compare the old typology toilet located out of the house. Extension spaces in different typology in culture way of living and its evolving to its fitness. Not only by living this idea also apply in industry, education, business and others.

PIN-UP! SOCIETY - ARCHITECTURE + SOCIAL MEDIA ABSTRACT PiNUP! SOCIETY Pin up! Society is a hypothetical project that is targeted for the youth in Malaysia. The site is located in Georgetown, Penang. The reason we choose Penang? It is the place where the youth can express themselves by contributing to the public in any way they can, as Penang is trying new ways to express their heritage tourism. This project is an egg-shaped dome, which can be in several places and typologies. We proposed 4 typologies that can be used in Penang. This is to suit the condition of the heritage buildings in Penang and how we can squeeze in the domes with minimal changes to the heritage buildings. From the 4 typologies, there are various programs that can be installed to suits the current trend of youthâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s activities. These domes can be accessed through the hypothetical apps we created to create a new journey simulation to the youth. (Keyword: steel dome, urban salvage, gentrification, youth)

SYPHODIUM - GREEN URBAN PILLARS

GREEN + SUSTAINABLE Above syphon, a cylinder vertical structure will build to fit a purpose as vertical farming. this structure is assembled and disassemble structure make it easy to attach and maintaining. grid of this structure makes it easy to modulate the box that hold the plant. several plans are list to due to season. there are 2 type of cultivation which is summer cultivation and winter cultivation. On average, the recycled pallet system with compost will produce more vegetable than with floating hydroponic system. The reason is that the recycled pallet with compost system is more flexible in term of usage all-year-round and in term of crop density at a single cultivation. However, the crops produced with floating hydroponic system will consume less fertiliser than of recycled pallet with compost system. This mean that the crop that will be produced is closer to being â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;organic foodâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;. Timer used at this system to have precise watering timing to the plant. there are 2type of water tank, collection gray water tank and from grid water tank. the rain water will be collected to watering plant, balance dripping by watering also will be collected and go to storm water collection, being pump and use again. water outlet gray water from residential will maximise recycle use to optimum water usage. By using this syphone system, soil and space can be recycle that may reduce cost of farming. The fruits, herbs and other product that be outcome of this syphone will sell at the market. the market will adaptive reuse and adding the additional space on top of the roof to have very pleasure park market walk at top and wet market at the existing site.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

ABSTRACT

Institute of Extraordinary Youngsters is a research and development facilities, inclusive of a training school that develops and study the abilities and potentials of the extraordinary youngsters in Malaysia. The idea of these facilities is to amplify human potential and gives proper syllabus to the extraordinary youngsters. The spaces provided are to give constant and manipulating variables that give challenges of mind. It is designed to develop various experiences to the youngsters. This development is monitored, recorded, analyzed, and the data obtained can be used to develop talent and ability power. These data will be the main ingredient to human potential development studies. The spaces are separated during activities event either play, studies or event sleep, but at the same time complement each other and working together.

Project [X] is a hypothetical project that manifest the idea of fabricated and upgrading human potential through research of epigenetic using psychoactive spaces as an architectural medium. Psychoactive come from word psychology and active. Psychoactive spaces are spaces that affecting the result of the active brain activity psychologically. Psychoactive spaces exist by responsive of perceptual spaces that a person experiencing. Perceptual spaces are more relies on a person subjective experiences that used to define configuration of symbols and objects that exist within a certain boundary that isolate from one space to another. Perceptual spaces related in two aspects, one is physical aspect that perceived directly with the senses inside the person body and the other one is metaphorical spaces that allow permit of imagination extension of mind. Psychoactive spaces comes out with variables that affect nervous system which is smell, noise, light, heat, spatial orientation, perception of movement, and tactile sensation.
