Dantzan Bilaka supports the choreographic creation in Azkuna Zentroa
Azkuna Zentroa - Alhóndiga Bilbao hosts in 2020 and 2021 Dantzan Bilaka, the accompaniment and context creation program around choreographic production, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Basque Government and coordinated by ADDE, the Association of Basque Professionals. Dantzan Bilaka develops throughout the year with workshops that promote the meeting of the dance community, their self-recognition and reflection on their practices.The first of these workshops, Cuerpo interrumpido o los trazados de la atención, led by Ana Buitrago, took place in February. Between August and October two workshops will take place, with Thiago Granato (26> 29 August) and Carolina Mendoça (2> 5 September) and an artistic accompaniment for nine dance projects selected within this program. A public presentation of the projects will be held from October 9 to 11.

THIAGO GRANATO is a Brazilian choreographer living in Berlin. In addition to creating his own work, which has been internationally presented, he has worked with artists such as Lia Rodrigues, Mathilde Monnier, Cecilia Bengolea or Jefta van Dinther. He has participated in Ex.e.r.ce 8, coordinated by Xavier Le Roy, at the Choreography Centre of Montpellier (France).

CAROLINA MENDOÇA
Carolina Mendoça is interested in knowledge contamination and in being vulnerable to different logics. She holds a degree in Performing Arts from the ECA-USP (University of São Paulo) and a Master’s Degree in Choreography and Performance from the University of Giessen in Germany. Carolina was also one of the curators of the VERBO Performance Art Festival (2017) at the Vermelho Gallery and the Videobrasil Dance Season (2017), both in São Paulo.
