Have an Old Worn or Torn Flag?
Retire your flag with dignity.
The City of Azle now has a collection box where the public can properly retire their tattered or worn U.S. and Texas Flags. The container is located at the west entrance to Azle City Hall, 505 W. Main Street.
The container was generously provided by Hunter Morgan, Boy Scout Troop 147, as his Eagle Scout Project.
All Flags collected are disposed of through a Flag Retirement Ceremony hosted by a local Boy Scout troop.
The United States Code (Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8) states:
"The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning."

Guidelines for spring cleaning garbage collection
Spring is here and yard clean-up is in full swing! We want to remind you that CWD will collect lawn debris (bagged or in a container) and bundled limbs (not to exceed 4 feet in length and 50 pounds in weight) on your second collection day of the week. No more than 10 bags will be collected at one time. Residents receive once a month loose brush collection not to exceed 20 cubic yards (8’ wide x 3’ 5” high x 21’ length). Collection takes place Wednesday-Friday on designated weeks. (See the brochure or call City Hall to determine your collection day). CWD will mulch/recycle the brush so the brush pile must be free of all foreign debris and all limbs must have the trunks facing the street at a 90 degree angle. No limbs can be greater than six (6) inches in diameter, weigh more than 50 lbs or be more than 15 feet in length. See picture for proper placement of brush.
