And your 2021 Charity Week heavyweight champion is…

During the week of June 6-12, 2021 AMA members duked it out for the title of Charity Week Champion by holding fundraising events for the Arizona Multihousing Charitable Foundation’s (AMCF) first ever Charity Week Competition. Fundraisers engaged residents, customers and staff, and ranged from taking donations to wearing denim for a day to raffling off trips.

The AMCF Big Hearts Committee is beyond grateful to all of the companies that participated, as each dollar raised goes toward furthering the AMCF mission to cultivate and generate financial resources to provide safer communities and enhance residents lives by addressing the needs of the community, children, veterans, housing and education.

The AMCF Big Hearts Committee sends out a huge amount of gratitude to all of the companies that contributed. You are all Champions in our eyes, however, only the top-fundraisers in Phoenix and Tucson could ultimately be given the title of Charity

Week Champion. Competing in two separate “Weight Classes” were AMA Property Management Companies and Associate Members; each one vying for their very own Charity Week Championship Title.

Without further ado, we give you your 2021Charity Week Champions:

Taking home the Championship title in Tucson for the Charity Week Dollar-Per-Door Fundraising is Altamira Apartments (Nicolosi & Fitch) with $1,145.34 raised ($9.09/door). Altamira raised this wonderful contribution by raffling off a half month of rent for their residents. Second place went to Arches At Oracle (Scotia Group) and third place was awarded to Silverado Apartments (Quarterpenny Management). Tucson winning teams received a team lunch sponsored by Law Offices of Scott Clark, Redi Carpet & RentPath.

For the Phoenix Property Management Companies, coming in at an amazing $10,000… Mark-Taylor Apartments. Mark-Taylor was able to raise this admirable amount by engaging residents and team members. Each property held a resident event during the week, ranging from ping pong tournaments to pool parties to bake sales. They then held a company-wide raffle for employees to be entered for a chance to win one of ten paid days off, as well as allowed team members to wear jeans to work for the week with a $5 per day donation. Across all properties and teams they raised $7,993, with Mark-Taylor graciously rounding up their final contribution to 10K.

The bout for top Associate Member Company in Phoenix was a tight battle between American Roofing and Waterproofing and Burns Pest Elimination. All week long they went head-to-head, one-upping each other every day. American Roofing utilized a mass marketing approach, sending out an eblast to over 4,000 of their partners and customers, as well as being featured on the National Women In Roofing website and Twitter account.

Burns took a more internal approach, generating funds from within the company. They held an employee raffle all week where team members could purchase raffle tickets to win one of ten prizes that included paid days off and free cash in the “Burns Money Booth”. Additionally, they upped the ante with an internal competition for a free lunch provided by owners Dave and Danny Burns for the team within Burns that collectively raised the most money.

“We solely raised funds through employee donations, which makes me even more proud to work with such a fantastic group of individuals when I tallied our overall total,” beamed Tina Greco, Commercial Account Executive for Burns.

While both companies made tremendous contributions, in the end only one Phoenix Associate Member could be victorious. American Roofing and Waterproofing boasted a final fundraising total of $1,409. However, with a total raised of $2,708, Burns Pest Elimination is your Phoenix Associate Member Champion.
