BY JAY BOBBIN

Anna Belknap is happy to be doing another season of “CSI: NY,” though she didn’t necessarily expect it. Now in its ninth year, the CBS crime drama faced the very real possibility of ending last spring, with its season finale – in which forensics team leader Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) was mortally wounded – suggesting the cast and crew were braced to wrap things up for good. Instead, “CSI: Miami” became the part of the franchise that was canceled, and Belknap has gotten to continue as New York police detective and lab expert Lindsay Monroe Messer. “I thought for sure it was the end,” she recalls. “I really did. We had been close (to cancellation) the year before, so we all thought, ‘Well, we were lucky to get another year.’ That last time we were all together, we were taking a lot of pictures. It’s a huge chunk of all our lives, and I was obviously hoping we’d come back, but I didn’t want to hope too much. I just really wasn’t sure.” The current “CSI; NY” round has offered a bigger dose of Lindsay’s family life, with recent episodes focusing on her as a mother and a daughter. Belknap, who has been with the show since its second year, is glad it’s letting in more of its characters’ personal lives ... even as she admits she’s still working on balancing her own life as a steadily working actress and a mother of two. “It’s always hard,” she allows, “as everyone who has kids knows. I always realize when I’m at work that I do need to get away from the house, that it’s important for me to have a life outside. At the same time, when I’m having a really long day, I’m like, ‘I have to go back and be with my kids! What are they doing? How are they?’ It’s always a struggle for me, that thing of trying to feel like you’re not letting anyone down too much.”

ELIZABETH TAYLOR MOVIES Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”

BY JAY BOBBIN

“National Velvet” (1944) Taylor’s star-making role casts her as a young jockey who teams with a novice trainer (Mickey Rooney) to enter England’s celebrated Grand National horse race. “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” (1958) Taylor makes an excellent Maggie to Paul Newman’s Brick and Burl Ives’ Big Daddy in the Tennessee Williams saga of Southern passions and family politics. “Cleopatra” (1963) Some critics laugh it off as a debacle that nearly sank 20th Century Fox, but as a movie-star showcase, it’s hard to beat this Taylor vehicle ... also with its extra attraction of showing her with Richard Burton in the film they fell in love on. Lohan She broke into “the business” before she was 10, grew up too quickly on-screen and off, and had many lovers and a shameless stage mom. Myriad health issues – some selfinflicted, some not. And a loyal inner circle that swears to her heart of gold. So is she Elizabeth Taylor? Or Lindsay Lohan, the talented but troubled starlet who plays the violet-eyed movie star in “Liz & Dick,” Lifetime’s much-discussed biopic produced by telefilm whiz Larry A. Thompson? By now you’ve figured out that the answer is both. And that, says Thompson, is why he believed Lohan would lend “magic” to his opulent production, premiering Sunday, Nov. 25, on the cable channel, that chronicles Taylor’s illicit international love affair with Richard Burton (Grant Bowler) and the rabid media coverage that led famed director Federico Fellini to first use the term “paparazzi” to describe it. “Listen, I knew it was a risk,” says the affable Thompson, who has managed hundreds of stars in his four-decade career. “But it was almost that Lindsay was born to play this role at this time because at the height of her flashbulb existence, we could create a movie about the people who created the flashbulb existence. As this affair is taking place, the entire Hollywood system breaks down because of them, which gives birth to the paparazzi and the invasion of privacy and the celebrity that we now know.”

(PG – 127 minutes) Stan: When a story starts with the survivor’s recounting the events and influences necessary for that survival, effectively utilizes and not over using the best of cinematic technology, skillfully interweaving the essences of the connection of differing species of life for survival, while examining the heart and soul of spirituality, what do you have? ‘Hitchcock’ A love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife and partner Alma Reville (Helen Mirren). The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie “Psycho.” (PG-13 – 98 minutes)

of your favorite childhood figures; Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman and Jack Frost. The characters take on slightly different personas than one would expect, but they work well within the context of the story. The film delivers a much more enjoyable experience than the trailer teases and is a perfect escape from shopping this holiday weekend for those with kids or without. (Grade: B+)

‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ (2011) was shot in Sweden during one of the coldest winters in over 20 years.

‘Silver Linings Playbook’

by Stan Robinson

Stan: Alfred Hitchcock is my favorite director of all-time. After seeing ‘Psycho’ (60’) on the big screen, becoming an admirer of his TV series ‘Alfred Hitchcock Presents’ (1955-61), and in the early 70’s was the subject of my final paper in film school. As ‘Hitch’ continued to direct movies through the late 70’s… I viewed those films, continued watching his previous works, and felt I had come full circle with Alfred Hitchcock’s influence when I landed a job on ‘Psycho IV: The Beginning’(1990) starring the late Anthony Perkins who starred in all four ‘Psycho’ films including the original ‘Psycho’ of 1960 on which this film is based. Anthony Hopkins is superb as Hitchcock; Helen Mirren is sedately effective as his wife; and James D’Arcy is a stark reminder of the older Anthony Perkins I had the pleasure of working with on ‘Psycho IV’. Am I biased? Maybe, just a little bit… (Grade: B+)

‘Red Dawn’ Chris Hemsworth, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson, Josh Peck and Isabel Lucas play a group of young patriots who, in the midst of an invasion by North Korean soldiers, band together to protect one another,

liberate their town from its captors and take back their freedom. (PG-13 – 114 minutes) Stan: Lightly touching on those elements of family, friendships, love, country, and honor, this re-telling of the classic theme of an invasion on our own soil, ‘Red Dawn’ with its milieu of highly recognizable actors in the ensemble cast, plenty of action sequences, and brisk pace as events unfold, provides a worthy afternoon matinee break from the very real events surrounding our lives today. (Grade: C) Joseph: It is always a bad sign when a movie uses 10 times more ammo than it does dialogue. Granted, “Red Dawn” - a remake of a 1984 movie – is a decent diversion from the otherwise overly-intelligent films of the fall, but director Dan Bradley is so hard and heavy with the action that he does not leave much room for a satisfying story, character development or proficient performances from his actors. The flick is far inferior to the Australian import “Tomorrow, When the War Began,” which, released earlier this year, was a bit more believable and twice as much fun. (Grade: D)

‘Rise of the Guardians’ When an evil spirit (Jude Law) lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, a group of heroes (Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman and Isla Fisher) – each with extraordinary abilities – join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world. (PG – 97 minutes) Randy: “Rise of the Guardians” is a true delight to watch. This computer-animated feature stars all

Bradley Cooper plays a former teacher who, after a stint in a mental institution, moves back in with his parents (Jacki Weaver and Robert DeNiro) and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife (Brea Bee). Things get more challenging, though, when he meets a mysterious girl (Jennifer Lawrence) with problems of her own. (R – 120 minutes) Stan: The eclectic personality types of the primary characters presented by the ensemble cast, keeps the potentially somber topic of mental breakdown and the healing process from being to ‘heady’. Reminding us that there’s ‘a little crazy’ in all of us for any given passion, as with Bradley

be writing and reading. I was quick to dismiss almost everything that regular people enjoyed, because I didn’t want to be like regular people, I wanted to be special, elite.A lot of my characters are simple people trying very hard to do the right thing. The importance of kindness is often a big theme in my work. Not being involved in the screenwriting process was a little difficult because I didn’t know how the story would reflect on the big screen under someone else’s direction. Although there’s the changes to the plot lines and characters, I never worried that the adaptation would be a disappointment, and the film is very true to the spirit of the book.” – Matthew Quick

In “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry,” filmmaker Alison Klayman follows contemporary artist Ai Weiwei – best known for his consultant work on the Beijing National Stadium (the “Bird’s Nest”) for the 2008 Summer Olympics – as he prepares for a series of exhibitions and gets into an increasing number of clashes with the Chinese government. “One night, Ai Weiwei’s room was raided and he asked one of

the cameramen, ‘Did you take out your camera and film it?’ The guy responded that he did not because he was afraid that they were going to take the camera away from him. So Ai Weiwei said, ‘Then they already took it from you.’ That has stuck with me ever since.”” – Alison Klayman

Filmmaker David Palmer (‘America Stripped: Naked Las Vegas’) By Stan Robinson In “American Stripped: Naked Las Vegas,” avant-garde photographer Greg Friedler brings together 173 naked human beings of every shape, size and walk of life as they bare all to his lens and eventually the world as he sets out to shoot the fourth and final book in his critically acclaimed “Naked” series in Las Vegas. “Contrary to what the title may imply, it’s a non-sexual movie, it’s more about humanity. The reason it’s so late to VOD/DVD release is that it aired for 2 years on Showtime and became the 5th most watched documentary of all time so they’ve been thrilled with how well its done on the cable channel. Filmmaker Lauren Greenfield (‘The Queen of Versailles’) By Stan Robinson In “The Queen of Versailles,” filmmaker Lauren Greenfield follows billionaires Jackie and David Siegel’s rags-to-riches story to uncover the innate virtues and flaws of the American dream. Said dream includes the construction of the biggest house in America, which is suddenly brought to halt as a result of the economic crisis – sealing the fate of its owners. “I was interested in showing the reality of what that kind of wealth was like because we live in a culture that’s so obsessed with a kind of sensationalism or idealization of wealth in reality TV and lot of the kind of pop figures that we see. I was interested in the relationship between that house and the American dream, and how ‘our houses’ is the expression of the American dream. In the boom it had gotten bigger and bigger, and in the foreclosure crises, everyone, including the very rich, were drastically affected. And as you know, the house was never finished…” – Lauren Greenfield

“Thanksgiving is an emotional holiday. People travel thousands of miles to be with people they only see once a year. And then discover once a year is way too often.” Johnny Carson If you remember Johnny Carson, then you can hear him saying the quoted words in his unmistakable Midwestern voice. I loved his dry sense of humor and oneof-a-kind delivery of the unexpected and sometimes caustic truth that many are only thinking. But what can this possibly have to do with casinos or video poker? If the stress of hosting a large group of guests is getting to you, how about making reservations for dinner at your favorite local casino? Not only will you be leaving clean-up duty to others (music to my ears), but you’ll also have several entertainment options afterward. If you decide to give it a whirl this year make sure you plan ahead. Here are some suggestions. Plan Ahead: If you have a mixture of family members that are like oil and water then this may be just the ticket for your group. This is especially true if all are over 21 years old (no children) and some don’t get along with each other. You will need to make some phone calls in advance and communicate all information to family members. If you’re the “lucky one” yearafter-year selected to host the dinner it might even encourage some other family member to step up to the plate in the future. What if it’s just the two of you? More reason than ever to get out of the house and avoid a mountain of pots and pans to clean up after the feast. Reservations: If you’re considering this option make sure you call all nearby casinos and ask about their Thanksgiving dining options. I know of several casinos that are already advertising scrumptious feasts at a reasonable price. If you have a large group of people attending you will want to let the casino know ahead of time so they are ready for your group. One really nice thing about Thanksgiving buffets at casinos is that they tend to outdo themselves with choices of food, even more so than other commercial restaurants. Options: In addition to making dinner arrangements you will also want to know if entertainment is available to the nongamblers in the group. Sometimes a night

club, a movie theater or some other activity venue is available after dinner. You can always go back to the host family’s house after dinner for coffee and cocktails. It’s certainly a lot less stressful than having one person be responsible for the lion’s share of the cooking and cleanup.

House-Hosted Thanksgiving

Possible Discounts/Comps: For those who are frequent players at their local casino there may be a discount rate available for your entire gathering. It never hurts to ask. If it’s just the two of you and you’re a regular then there’s a good chance your dinner will be comped. Notify Guests: One of the most important things you must do is let all guests know well in advance so that those objecting can make other arrangements. This doesn’t take as long as in the past since most people have email and the few that don’t can be called. If your group consists of people in their twenties or thirties they’ll probably all be up for it. Make sure you take the time to give a synopsis of the games available for out-oftowners so they can decide if and what they want to play after dinner. If you or others like video poker then you should copy some pay schedules and game names to send to others. Those from other states will probably be impressed with Arizona casinos. Final Thoughts: I realize that Thanksgiving at the local den of iniquity isn’t for the “Puritans” in the family or for groups that include children (although if only a few kids are involved their parents can take them home after dinner), but many gatherings are all adults. Keep in mind that if, like Johnny Carson, “once a year is way too often” to see some of your relatives then going to the local casino may have the grumpier ones remove themselves from your guest list. In reality, that might not be such a bad idea! Linda Boyd ,a long-time table game player before turning to video poker, also writes for “Southern Gaming” and “Midwest Gaming and Travel” her book, “The Video Poker Edge”, includes free removable pay schedules and strategy cards for the most popular games. Her story is in the 2012 Edition of “American Casino Guide” (ACG) and her You Tube video, is also with ACG. The 2010 Second Edition of her book is available in both paperback and kindle. Stockyards Steakhouse Rolls Out Fall 2012 “Classics” Menu The Stockyards, Arizona’s Original Steakhouse, was the home of the Official Centennial Menu for much of 2011 and 2012. “The Arizona Centennial Menu was an extremely popular choice for Stockyards’ guests over the past year” says Proprietor and General Manager Gary Lasko. “Guests enjoyed the historical dishes on the menu and the Three Course format for one set price.” Now that the buzz from the Centennial is winding down, The Stockyards has replaced the Centennial Menu with a similar Three Course offering called The “Classics” Menu. The “Classics” are fine dining menu items that have stood the test of time. Perennial favorites, these items continue to enjoy widespread popularity with today’s diners. Although some of these menu items have appeared on fine dining menus for hundreds of years, they remain relevant on today’s fine dining scene.

Opening in 1947 and celebrating its 65th anniversary this year, history is a big part of The Stockyards experience. Therefore in fine tribute, the Fall 2012 version of the “Classics” Menu will include Green Goddess Salad as the starter, the elegant Steak Diane with Brandy Cream Sauce, Whipped Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetable as the entrée and Warm Apple Toffee Cake for the dessert. The menu will include a short history of each item, including who first served the item and when and where it originated. The team at Stockyards believes The “Classics” Menu will prove to be as popular as the Centennial Menu - and plan to change the offerings seasonally.

enough so as not to overpower subtleties in the meal, while adding the occasional Earthy dimension. ●● Torrontes. This Argentinian white grape is thought to be related to the Muscat grape. Similarly, this wine is aromatic, acidic, and affordable, making it great for those with families as large as Mitt Romney’s or the Octomom’s.

By: Nathan Brugnone, @ NathanBrugone, Nathan@ AZWineMakers.com As the 2012 presidential election, Social Media hootin’-n’-hollarin’ drifts down to rest like the leaves from the Sycamore trees, our collective attention draws away from the outer rabble and toward our immediate surroundings. Now is the time for friends, family, food, and reflection. We give sober thanks while planning what to serve during Thanksgiving. Here are a few wines to consider: ●● Beaujolais. This red Burgundian wine made from Gamay grapes is a classic to serve with Turkey and lighter game meats. With Grand Crus (French for great growth) running around $15 per bottle, this is an easy wine with which to please the connoisseur. ●● Pinot Noir. Referred to as Red Burgundy when from Burgundy, Pinot Noir is light

Mon-Sat 11 am to Midnight, Sunday 10-2 brunch, 2 to Midnight. 4221 North 7th Ave, (602) 234-0333

●● Grenache. Grenache, a lighter red wine, can vary greatly in character, depending upon its terrior, its handlers, its wine crafters and its drinkers. In Spain, where it’s called Garnacha, Grenache is meatier, peppery and medium- to full-bodied. Cooler growing regions yield a fruitier wine with notes of cranberry, spice, and wet hay, which brings me to Arizona. If you’re willing, try to get your hands on a bottle of “The Peasant 2011”, a 100% Grenache wine from Burning Tree Cellars. This wine is showing beautifully right now, and with only 75 cases produced. You can be sure it won’t be around for long.

There are numerous ways to experiment with different wines and to build your wine collection and wine clubs are one of the most over-looked, yet highly enjoyable avenues available. Wine clubs come in many different varieties. For example, a winery-direct club is one where they periodically send you selections from their winery. Wine retailer clubs are usually national wine retailers who have deep wine inventories. In these clubs, you may be able join a club with a theme such as Italian wines, white wines only, or big styled wines like cabernets. In other wine clubs, an expert staff member hand-selects an assortment for your monthly shipment as a member in their club.

How do wine clubs work? Simply put, you sign up for a subscription and the club agrees to ship to you wine at regular intervals, usually monthly. A quick internet search will yield a wide-range of wine clubs and surely you will find one that meets your needs in the areas of quality, variety and budget. The most critical traits in choosing a wine club are customer service and the quality of the wine selections that you end up with. You are putting your wine choices into their hands – so they’d better be talented! I’ve been a member of many wine clubs over the years. One of the most gratifying was through a California winery. I always admired whoever the staff member was that made the choices for the monthly shipment. They were so creative and had a nice “wow” factor that pleasantly surprised me. I never knew what I was going to get, but it was always distinctive. One month itwould be magnums, the next month an assortment of half bottles, after that, older vintages, and on and on. I loved hosting dinner parties around these wines and sharing them with friends. As I write this, I can’t even remember why I’m not a member anymore. Some might think it is a big financial commitment to join a wine club, but they exist in many price ranges. The benefit is convenience, high quality and something interesting. If it’s not, you won’t be signing up again. Just look for proven customer service, outstanding selections, excellent prices and discounts for members, I think you’ll be pleased!

The French Have Conquered By Jennifer Manly, ArizonaVinesAndWines.com

Last week, I attended the Beaujolais Nouveau 30th Anniversary wine event at AJ’s Fine Foods in Scottsdale. This great event featured wine and food tasting, a magician, mime and French recording artist Cecilia Hortensia. It was a French theme at its finest!

Beaujolais Nouveau is the first wine of the new harvest and ushers in the new vintage year, so I can say I was one of the lucky ones to try a taste of the new 2012 harvest. I must say, it exceeded my expectations. It was a very crisp, fruit-flavored wine that is a great pairing to have during your Thanksgiving festivities! Now for a little bit about Beaujolais Nouveau; it is a red wine that is made from Gamay grapes that are produced in France. It is officially released on the third Thursday of November and it considered a lightweight wine and contains little tannin. The recommendation for serving this wine is lightly chilled at approximately 13°C (55°F). This great event not only gave me an excuse to try some exquisite wine, but it also gave me a chance to talk to AJ’s Cellar Master, Ann Stephens who was helping to pour. Anne’s passion

for wine and “all things French” was very apparent from the moment I met her. She gave me a brief background on her journey through the years and how she ended up where she is now. I must say, she is an extraordinary woman, with so much talent, knowledge and love for the wine industry and Europe. If you haven’t tried Beaujolais Nouveau, go pick up a bottle and take it with you to Thanksgiving dinner, or your next holiday party, I promise you won’t be disappointed. Also, next time you stop into AJ’s, say hello to Ann and ask her some wine questions, I guarantee she’ll have the answer you’re looking for! AJ’s Fine Foods 7141 E. Lincoln Dr. Scottsdale, 85253

Whether you believe technology can help make a better wine is up to you, but there is no denying that physicianturned-winemaker Julio Palmaz has created a work of technological art at Palmaz winery in Napa Valley. Within an 18-story natural wine cave, the Palmaz family uses Bond-like futuristic technology to craft their wine to precise, award-winning specifications. Just read what the Wall Street Journal and Food & Wine have said about them. On Thursday, December 6th, J&G Steakhouse will be hosting a multi-course, wine-paired dinner with Palmaz wines. HEALTH BENEFITS OF BEER / THE LIST YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR From time to time we enter the discussion about whether or not beer has any real health benefits. When we do, we always do our best to be able to cite legitimate publications and research that tout the advantages of moderate drinking. In case you missed the key word…it is MODERATE. Anyway, it seems like the holiday season is a pretty good time to discuss that further – and we discovered that a tiny microbrewery and distillery in Pretoria, South Africa had put

together a pretty good list. So let’s take a look at this list and maybe you can use something off of it the next time you want to slip out for a couple of beers. Medical studies have over the years consistently demonstrated that moderate consumption of beer can be part of a healthy lifestyle. 1. Drinking beer is good for your liver! Drinkers of beer can get rid of poisonous heavy metals like lead and copper up to five times more effectively than tee-totalers. Alcohol causes the small blood vessels in the liver to expand which speeds up metabolism. (Beer Net Publication, April 2001 Biological Institute, University of Charkov, Prof. AnatolijBohkov)

2. It lowers your risk of heart attacks. Those drinking beer on a daily basis, averaging 4-9 liters (editor’s note: A liter of beer is about 33.8 ounces, so 4-9 liters is 1.5 to 3 beers per day)- of beer per week, have the lowest rate of heart attacks. Their risk is approximately 50% lower when compared to non-drinkers. (Bobak et al 2000; Hoffmeister et al 1999; Kitamura et al 1998). 3. It prevents cholesterol from oxidizing. Hop compounds xanthohumol and quercetin, both strong antioxidants are very effective in their ability to prevent LDL (the bad form of cholesterol) from oxidation. When LDL is oxidized it will be laid down on the Continued On Page 38

Vitamins like B6; B12 and especially folate (all naturally occurring in beer) are now recommended as part of doctors’ orders to be taken daily to control elevated levels of Hcy (Walker, BRI, 2001). The minerals in beer come from both the malt and the brewing liquor. The beneficial ratio of potassium to sodium is particularly important in relation to cardiovascular disease.

artery wall causing them to narrow, thus increasing the chances of blockage and heart attacks (Miranda et al 2000). Antioxidants are thought to be able to quench and inactivate the free radicals, which may cause the types of cellular damage that can lead to both cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer. 4. It boosts your antioxidant levels. Recent studies have turned its attention to the anti-oxidative role of plant polyphenols in general, their beneficial influence on various aspects of health and in particular, their role in dealing with dangerous free radicals within the body. Analysis can show how much of these good compounds are in beer- but can it be absorbed (called bioavailability) by humans and hence have a positive effect on health? Yes! The malt-derived antioxidant ferulic acid is 100% absorbed by humans (compared to 11-25% absorption of ferulic acid from a tomato). The total level of antioxidants in the blood increased significantly after just a single glass of ale, again proving that antioxidants in beer are well absorbed (Ghiselli et al 2000) Not that any person in his right mind would settle for just a single glass!

5. It boosts vitamin B6; B12; folate and mineral levels. If compared to wine and spirits, beer is the only beverage that contains significant levels of vitamins. High homocysteine (Hcy) levels in the blood are associated with increased risk of CVD. November 22nd, 2012 - November 28th, 2012

6. Keeps homocysteine (Hcy) levels low. Van der Gaag and his colleagues found that drinking wine and spirits increased serum Hcy levels, whereas, counteracted by folates and vitamin B6, beer consumption had no influence. A clear case of beer should be first for thirst! 7. Drinking beer boosts your soluble fiber intake and lowers cholesterol. One of the most effective forms of soluble fibre for lowering cholesterol is betaglucan, which is the predominant form of fiber in beer. Beers with high malt content like craft beers may provide up to 30% of the recommended daily fiber intake (Gromes et al 2000). 8. Drinking beer help in combating cancer, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and other immune system attacking diseases. Hops contain compounds that are unique and rare in nature –like prenyl flavonoids (8PN) which are phytoestrogens that are natural plant based compounds, which mimics the natural estrogens in the body (Bingham et al 1998). The highest 8PN levels in beers have been found in dark and bitter ales and stouts and from craft breweries where whole hopping is practiced. 9. Beer ensures healthy bones. Beer has a nutritional benefit that promotes healthy bones and connective tissue (Dr. Jonathan Powell, Kings College, London). Because of the brewing process, silicon is leached from barley grain in a form that is readily accessible to the body. 10. Beer protects against gallstones. Prof. Oliver James, from the school of clinical medical studies at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, says that beer protect against

Wow…that was a pretty exhaustive list. We may not know the beers of Drayman’s, but we like the way they think. Lots of big words, but the gist of it is…there are health benefits to drinking beer in moderation. So we recommend that you cut this article out and keep it wherever you keep your beer. That way you always have a reminder of the benefits of beer. Phoenix Convention Center / November 22nd – 25th The Arizona International Auto Show is produced by Motor Trend Auto Shows, Inc., founded in 1984. They produce more than 20 international auto shows across the United States. At the Arizona International Auto Show in Downtown Phoenix you’ll be able to see hundreds of the newest cars, trucks, minivans and sportutility vehicles that will be introduced by auto manufacturers in the upcoming year. Show Hours: Thursday 9am – 7pm; Friday 9am – 9pm; Saturday 9am – 9pm; Sunday 9am – 7pm Helpful Tips to Get the Most out of the Ultimate Auto Show Experience: ●● Wear comfortable walking shoes; there’s a lot of ground to cover at the Convention Center. ●● Children are welcome, but there are no activities for children aside from the superhero visits on Sunday.

●● There are snack bars and coffee stands located in various places throughout the Phoenix Convention Center. ●● This is a great show to attend if you are seriously considering purchasing a vehicle. You look at them all, check out all the sticker information and sticker prices, and take whatever notes you’d like, all without having to deal with a salesperson. ●● Even though you can’t actually buy a vehicle at the show, there are usually representatives of the car companies on hand to answer any questions you might have. They can also tell you where you can find a dealership near you. ●● Expect to encounter a unique, up-close look at hundreds of new cars, trucks, SUVs, alternative fuel vehicles, futuristic concept cars and more. The show truly offers something for everyone. In short, prepare to enjoy a rare stroll down a “highway” of beautiful new vehicles. Tickets are available at the Convention Center Box Office or online at www.ticketmaster.com

●● This isn’t your typical trade show. There are very few vendor booths here. Just lots of new model vehicles.

Adults (13 and over) $10 Senior Citizens (62 and over) $6 Military (with any DOD ID) $6 Children (7-12) $6

●● Although there are a few tricked out and specialty cars, this is not a classic car show. The focus here is new model year passenger vehicles.
