ABOUT US The 400 year old The Chequers at Burcot standing just off the A415 about 5 miles south of Oxford has come a long way since award-winning chef Steven Sanderson first took the reins in 2006. Steven’s cooking is intelligent, straight forward and elegant, with simplicity, flavour and skill at the top of his agenda. His ability to create home comfort and nostalgic food with a modern twist is evident throughout the ever evolving menu. The Chequers focuses on excellent customer service and an exceptional culinary experience to make your visit a memorable one, they aim to exceed customers' expectations every step of the way. Booking is always recommended. The Gallery is an ideal space to entertain, as is the larger restaurant, or hire the whole pub. For larger events, we can erect a beautiful marquee in our garden. To celebrate in style why not start with champagne and canapés by the open fire and then move to the private dining area to enjoy your bespoke menu. Menus are tailored to customers’ wishes and can range from a country dining menu to a tasting menu paired with fine wines.
