Take a LEAP forward in your apprenticeship!

Alena’s degree apprenticeship is the foundation for further study

Do you strive to achieve a distinction? Do you have your next promotion in sight? Do you need help to be ‘your’ best?

Alena Brow, Foundation Degree Project Management

For Alena, choosing a Degree Apprenticeship was the perfect option. It allowed her to get her foot in the door of the industry and enjoy earning a living while studying for her degree. Alena couldn’t recommend her tutors highly enough and particularly enjoyed the smaller class size which meant that she had plenty of opportunity to interact with her fellow students and get one-to-one support whenever she needed it. Completing a Degree Apprenticeship meant that the theoretical information she learnt on the course was intimately linked to the projects she was undertaking at work, providing the perfect blend of practical learning and academic knowledge.

Although originally worried that the work-life balance would be a struggle, Alena assures us that doing a Degree Apprenticeship with B&FC offered her the perfect blend of work, study and the opportunity for a social life. Having completed her Foundation Degree, Alena is now going on to complete her Level 6 Honours degree with B&FC! “ I can work while I do my degree and apply the knowledge that I learn directly to what I’m doing on a dayto-day basis. Even though it’s an apprenticeship, the tutors at B&FC offer you all the support you need to fit studying around work.”

Then this programme is ideal for you!

Our top tips 1. Always make notes during work, to help with assessments later. 2. Use your Microsoft teams calendar, this will help you keep track of your course dates & meetings. 3. Make sure you always add off the job training to your learning journal daily, so you don’t forget! This includes college attendance, shadowing & mentoring of any new staff. 4. Always ask questions, if you don’t ask, you don’t learn! 5. Make your efforts stronger than your excuses. This is your time to shine!
