g n i l c y c Re A-Z Guide to

Welcome to the Blackpool and The Fylde College guide to recycling. Over the last four years, the College has been working hard to improve recycling rates and reduce the volume of waste going to landfill. We understand that recycling can be quite confusing at times so to help simplify things we have put this guide together that provides practical advice about recycling at the College. Please consider that it costs the College more to send rubbish to landfill than it does to recycle, so we need the full support of our staff, students and visitors to make our recycling schemes successful. If you do have any further questions, comments or suggestions please do not hesitate to contact us. A useful contacts page is at the back of this guide.

Britain is running out of landfill space, so the Government is making landfill waste disposal ever more expensive to try to encourage everybody to recycle more. Where will all our waste go once landfill sites have run out? Just think‌ up to 60% of the rubbish that ends up in the dustbin could be recycled or reused.
