FREE BUS TRAVEL TO ENROLMENT Show your GCSE results or enrolment letter to the driver for free travel on Blackpool Transport on Thursday 25 August to Friday 26 August inclusive.

We can’t wait to see you at enrolment! Your appointment slot and full details are outlined in the letter enclosed with this guide. Please read this guide carefully, it is designed to help you understand the enrolment process at B&FC and to give you the information you need to make it as smooth as possible. It is essential that you bring with you the information detailed within this guide.

There will be FREE PARKING provided if you are coming in a car. Parking spaces will be allocated on arrival. Our Bispham Campus address is: Blackpool and The Fylde College, Ashfield Road, Blackpool FY2 0HB


What do I need to bring? IT’S REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU BRING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WITH YOU TO ENROLMENT.

1. Your enrolment letter and guide 2. Your results slip with this year’s GCSE (or equivalent) examination results and certificates for any qualifications you completed before the summer 3. Your completed Financial Support form (enclosed) if relevant. See page 3 for further information. 4. Your completed Financial Support form to apply for Blackpool Transport 24/7 bus pass if relevant.

What will happen at my enrolment?

Step 1 WELCOME You will be greeted on arrival at the Bispham Campus and shown to the Sports Hall where enrolment will take place. We ask that you attend your appointment slot alone as space in the Sports Hall is limited.

Step 2 QUALIFICATION CHECK AND COURSE ADVICE AND GUIDANCE Specialist tutors will now check your results slip (and certificates if relevant) and make sure they are right for the course you have applied for. If you need any further advice about your subject or course, they can provide it here. Don’t panic if your qualifications are not what you expected as our expert tutors can support you to find the perfect course for you. Did you know that if you don’t pass your maths and English, you can study them alongside your chosen course? Which means it won’t take an extra year to complete. Once finished you will be guided to one of our Enrolment Team.

There are just three steps to enrolment at B&FC:

Step 3 MAIN ENROLMENT Here you will sort your bursary and travel pass applications if relevant and become a B&FC student! The Enrolment Team will check all your details are correct and input them into the College system. You will now have your photo taken and be issued with an ID badge, which you must wear at all times in College. If eligible, instructions explaining how to access your Blackpool Transport 24/7 bus pass will be emailed to your student account.


Additional Support Our award-winning Learning Support Team will be available at Step 2 to provide individualised support to learners. Not sure if you’ve chosen the right course?

Transport information The Blackpool Transport free 24/7 Travel Pass is available to eligible students. Complete the enclosed Financial Support Application form if you are eligible and bring it with you to enrolment. This will then be processed at Step 3. If you are not sure about eligibility, ask the Enrolment Team at Step 3.

Our experienced career advisors will be available at enrolment to help support you in making the right choice about your future. They will provide you with information to help you decide on the best way to achieve your career path.

Getting to College is easy and there are several public transport options. You can plan your journey, however you choose to travel, by going to our journey planner on our website at: blackpool.ac.uk/campus/bispham/ getting-here.

Financial support All B&FC students can access a Free breakfast! You may also be able to access additional financial support – see the table below. Complete the enclosed Financial Support Application Form and the Enrolment Team will assess it at Step 3 to see what you can receive.

We also provide a FREE circular bus from Poulton-leFylde to Bispham Campus. The route includes Poultonle-Fylde railway station, providing free onward transport to the College for students travelling in by train from towns including Kirkham, Chorley and Preston. The bus service runs Monday to Friday during term-time and picks up at all Blackpool Transport stops between Poulton-le-Fylde and Bispham Campus. Receiving Income Support or Universal Credit because they are financially supporting themselves

Receiving Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments in their own right as well as Employment and Support Allowance or the equivalent Universal Credit in their own right

You will also receive free meals

Help with the cost of childcare up to a maximum of £160 per child per week.
