Iniziammo a leggere tutto quel che ci capitò tra le mani, prima di ripartire – i pianoforti sugli scogli e le stelle oblique, i labirinti invasi da fichi caduti e petali. «Difficile che io sia senza di te, così do a te quello che mi serve per vivere». Noi due insieme stringemmo l’Italia fra le mani. Le tue voglie sparsero calore e fuoco. Confondemmo Roma con un sogno – in motorino, le

azalee e i gatti, su un barcone lungo il Tevere, una band suonò blues. Bevemmo acqua davanti a Bulgari, andammo a sederci sulla scalinata. La barca storta, le cinque di mattina, la vanità dei peccatori e San Pietro dentro una serratura. Le pizze coperte di basilico – smaniosi noi, gli altri tutti uguali, noi diversi. Demoni innamorati del vago, il viola di spie in incognito. Nothing bothered us at all, up there. We were swifter than the others, those of our own age. Qualità e creatività sono i valori che Adrien Brody riconosce in Bulgari e che cerca di portare anche nella sua concezione del mestiere di attore.
