Al gets lost in Spain

Hi! My name is Maria and I am going to tell you the story of when I met Al, a very friendly alien who became my friend.

One day, I was playing in my favourite playground when I saw a funny thing moving towards me. At first I was a bit scared, but then I thought that it looked quite friendly so I went closer to see what it was.

–¡Hola! ¿Qué eres?

–Sorry, I don’t understand you.

–Oh, you speak English! I said: Hi! What are you?

–Yes, I only speak English. My name is Al and I was going on an adventure in space when my spaceship broke down and I have just landed here. What is this place?

–This country is Spain and most people won’t understand you unless you speak Spanish. Would you like to come with me? I could teach you some Spanish so you can find your way back home.

–That sounds great! How do I say “Hi! My name is Al” in Spanish?

–That would be “Hola, me llamo Al” –Hol–a, me lla–mo Al. It doesn’t seem that hard. It’ll be fun! So off we went on an adventure. I was so happy with my new friend and I couldn’t wait to teach him lots of Spanish words.

What would you do if you suddenly woke up in a country which you don’t know and you couldn’t speak their language? This is what happened to Al, who you will have the opportunity to learn Spanish with in such a fun way.
