e VANS Family trip ou comment réunir tous les riders français du team. Peu importe qu’ils soient du flow team, du Pro team ou même du team Europe. Tout le monde est Français, tout le monde se connait et surtout tout le monde passe du bon temps ensemble sous le soleil de cote basque. C’est bien la seule chose à retenir ici.
Vans European Vacation, or perhaps just a good excuse to gather thewhole crew together, in one place, for a whole week. From Flow to Proand on up to Euro, if you’re French and ride BMX for Vans then you’re invited. A whole week of hanging out under the La cote Basque sun and bro-ing down with la famille.
L’idée de ce trip était donc de réunir tout ce beau monde sur une plage pour un trip aux allures de Vacances. C’est du moins le rêve qui leur à été vendu pour les convaincre de tous laisser (ou presque) leur ladies pendant quelques jours. Le concept était simple : Grass mat, Chill sur la plage, un peu de riding, « quelques verres » entre nous le soir et nous verrions bien ce qu’il pourrait en ressortir.
Getting everyone to commit to the trip was never going to be easy but the lure of a free beach holiday was strong, strong enough to get most people on board without coercion, even when they were told to leave their ladies at home no one seemed to mind. Admittedly the reality ofwhat awaited them in the Southwest of France may not have been quite ‘as advertised’ but they soldiered on regardless.

Le trip étant terminé, au vu des coups de soleil, des heures de sommeil consommées (des bouteilles aussi…), et de la matière obtenue par le pole média, vous pouvez maintenant être sûr que cette recette marche plutôt bien…
So our experiment was set, a was mixture of the following ingredients; plenty of rest, extreme temperatures, the occasional bit of riding, the slightly more occasional round of drinks, then sit back, relax and watch the results.

Imagine if you will riders like Anto’The Shrimp’ Lille hanging out with Alex’the Gangsta Valentino or trail digger extraordinaire Jeremy Muller kicking it with Matthias Dandois the fanatical Flatlander… an interesting cocktail. Like all good things however the trip came to an end, and we were left memories that will last a lot longer than the sun burn and a stack of footage, the experiment seems to have been success. L’ANNECDOTE En pleine soirée on c’est amusé à aller récupérer des méduses mortes sur la plage. Bien sûr il fallait qu’une fille se vante en nous disant que les méduses mortes ne piquaient plus. Ce qu’elle ne savait pas, c’est que Matthias lui avait gentiment préparé un petit piège… Elle a posé le pied dessus et bien sûr tout le monde à éclater de rire. Qui fait la maline…. During one night out, we went dead jelly fish hunting . Of course there had to be a girl who came over to us saying that dead jelly fish stung much more. what she didn’t know was that Mathias had kindly set up a trap for her. LE MOMENT Lorsque nous avons pu rouler pendant 5 min la cité du surf…Même si J’avais aimé que cela soit plus long… Sans oublier bien sûr la session flat de Matthias sur la corniche. Enfin les soirées aussi, toujours les soirées!!
I would have said the City of Surf, but 5 mins wasn’t enough to appreciate the spot! Irùn, because everyone rode well and loved the spot and then the session with Josh Strickler, was unforgettable. Yes, Josh Strickler!
When we rode at the City of Surf for 5 mins- even if we didn’t have much time, and I’d liked to have ridden more, we can’t forget Mathias’s corniche session! And of course the nights out!

L’ANNECDOTE Antony lille!! le mec est une anecdote à lui tout seul, en mode gitane, il se pointe quand les sessions sont finies, snake tout le monde pour draguer des demoiselles avec sa technique de choc, dors à côté d’un lit qu’on lui propose et en gros n’a ridé qu’un spot, mais attention les yeux!! Ah et aussi!! Avoir demandé 4 minutes de patience aux gars lors de la session éclair au palais de la glisse pour repérer vite fait le lieu et les voir passer à fond 2 secondes après… encore merci hein les jeunes!! Antony Lille! The GUY is an annecdote personnified with his gypsy style. He rocks up when the sessions are over, snakes everyone to pull girls with his shocking techniques, sleeps next to bed when he’s got a huge one waiting for him, and really, he only rode one spot- but watch out for him! And also- for having asked for the guys to chill for 4 minutes during a night session at the Palais de la Glisse

L’ANNECDOTE Si vous connaissez Matthias en soirée, c’est vraiment quelque chose. Il devait être environ 4h lorsque que prit d’une envie non contrôlée Matthias avait décidé de glisser torse nu sur le sol de la boîte. Pile à ce moment-là, et dans la tradition pourri du milieu de la nuit, de bien épais nuages de fumée ont été projetés … À cause de cela Matthias n’avait pas vu Kevin dans sa trajectoire. Sa glissade s’arrêta nette, tète la première dans les pieds de Kevin. Aîe le cou!! If you know how Mathias is during a night out, it’s definitely an experience! Around 4am, all of a sudden, he had the urge to slide on the floor of the night club- topless! At that precise moment, and in true Mathias fashion, the smoke machines were activated, and Mathias didn’t see Kevin in his path. His’slide’ came to an abrupt end, his head at Kevins feet! Bam- his neck!

The session for me who filmed this family holiday that stays in my mind is definitely when Matthias rode the cornice in Biarritz. A prize spot, perfect lighting, a great guy and a huge rush!

ette année notre Kang national a eu la bonne idée de réunir tous ses riders sur la cote basque pendant 5 jours pour profiter du soleil, de la plage et faire un peu de vélo en fin d’après-midi. Nicolas Badet, Matthias Dandois, Jeremy Muller, Alexandre Valentino, Antony Lille, Kevin Kalkoff et Adrien Lecomte. J’ai envie de vous dire que ça fait une belle équipe! D’autant plus que niveau media on est plutôt pas mal non plus, Vincent Perraud pour les photos bien sûr et le bon Thibaut Greuvet pour la vidéo. Le Samedi on était au Urkatu Trail d’Anglet où Jems a bien enchaîné sur la grosse série, avant de faire de merveilleuses images de Matthias au vieux port de Biarritz. Le Dimanche toute l’équipe a cramé sous le soleil du park d’Irun. Sauf Anto, il est arrivé à l’heure de l’Apéro, héhé! Le Lundi nous étions à l’ombre de street park de Bayonne pour faire de belle lignes. Les Tibias de Porco s’en rappellent! Le Mardi a été street dans Biarritz, le spot de la Médiathèque a plut à tous, Badet a glissé en fakie! et pour finir le trip, une bonne session Flat de Matthias devant la Gare du Midi, Parfait! Je laisse ma place à un autre pour raconter les soirées de ce trip, qui apparemment étaient plus que validé!!! hein les gars... JOHN
