WITH HEART

MINI | We are so inspired by de la heart! Can you tell us how it all came to be?

GIORDANA VOGEL | @delaheart was founded four years ago, from my yearning to attain a more balanced and diversified lifestyle consisting of all the best in health, beauty, and fitness. I wanted to create a space for women to feel safe, connected, and inspired by my own self-healing journey. As I committed to sharing these tips daily, de la heart and its community grew. Our brand has evolved throughout the years, and always with our community in mind, we brought our rituals to life creating an all-natural skincare line which put us at the top of the beauty-wellness market. Four years, two children, a full online marketplace, and an ever-expanding community later, we could not be more proud of what we’re building at de la heart. My heart is so full to be where we are today.

MINI | What has been your proudest career moment to date?

GIORDANA VOGEL | So many! I think what I’m most proud of is to be able to grow my family while simultaneously growing my business. It just shows that women are so powerful and that we can do anything we put our minds and hearts to!

MINI | Now that you’re expecting, what was your first thought when you learned you were pregnant with your second baby?

GIORDANA VOGEL | It was a total surprise! We knew we wanted another baby, but we weren’t ready just yet. However, it just happened and we are so grateful that it’s been a smooth ride so far. I’m SO excited to be a boy mom. I keep hearing boys have a special bond with their mother and I can’t wait to experience that first hand. I was never surprised by gender or hoped for a boy or girl, I believe that you get what you need in order to grow and evolve as a human being and parent. I’m just happy to be able to bear healthy, happy babies.

MINI | How has this pregnancy been similar to or different from your first?

GIORDANA VOGEL | It has been a completely different experience! This pregnancy has been way more intense physically and emotionally. All feelings are felt harder the second time around. I’ve been less focused on the pregnancy itself, and more focused on trying to spend as much time as I can with my daughter, Shiva, before her baby brother makes his arrival.

MINI | Tell us how you decided on your daughter’s name. How is the name game going this time around for your baby boy?

GIORDANA VOGEL | The name Shiva was inspired by Lord Shiva, the deity of deities in Hinduism, the destroyer and the creator who protects and transforms the Universe. Because that’s exactly what she’s done, transform our entire universe.

Baby boy will be named after both his grandfather and father: Ronald Vogel III aka baby Ronnie.

MINI | What wellness practices have you stuck to during your pregnancy?

GIORDANA VOGEL | All of them and more! Pregnancy is a time when a woman needs all the TLC she can get as she’s quickly experiencing so many changes. This time around, I have been very consistent with my meditation practice, meditating 30 to 45 min a day. I have been walking a lot and going to prenatal pilates classes three times a week. I have also been doing weekly acupuncture sessions and daily lymphatic drainage massages using all the @delaheart beauty tools.

MINI | How does your background as a holistic health coach play into how you’re raising your family?

GIORDANA VOGEL | It plays a huge role. Being a holistic health coach is not only my profession, it’s my way of life, so I share and pass this way of life on to my family. The only philosophy we live by is to always strive to become the best version of yourself, and that looks different for all of us in our household. We focus on moving our body mindfully, keeping our mind healthy through meditation, and thinking of food as medicine. These three pillars keep us healthy and at a high vibration.

MINI | How was your transition from a mom of zero to one?

GIORDANA VOGEL | You know, it wasn’t that hard!

My daughter was born right in the beginning of COVID, and part of the blessing of quarantine was being able to stay home and be really present for her. My husband and I really enjoyed having that time alone with her, free of outside distractions, and it helped us transition smoothly into parenthood.

MINI | What has surprised you most about motherhood thus far?

GIORDANA VOGEL | The ability that we have as mothers to give and love unconditionally. I never really understood what that meant until I became a mother myself.

MINI | What is most important to you in raising your children?

GIORDANA VOGEL | I want to raise healthy, happy, conscious human beings that contribute to society. I believe we achieve this through unconditional love. I want my kids to feel and know they are loved beyond their imagination so they can love everyone and everything around them the same way.

MINI | What are you looking forward to about raising your kids in Miami?

GIORDANA VOGEL | I love the ocean and I am so looking forward to spending a lot of time in the water with my minis as they grow up. We are also involved in the conservation of Biscayne Bay Project, so this is something that I want them to be involved in as they are the future of this beautiful city.
