Hiermee wil ons ook gebruik maak om vir elkeen wat op die toneel was om te help, elke telefoon oproep, sms wat ek nie kon terug antwoord nie, want daar was te veel, wil ons ons waardering uitspreek. Elke gebed wat gebid is, ons weet daarvan en waardeer dit opreg. Dit gaan baie goed met Fred. “Ons werk nog so bietjie aan die asemhaling maar met God wat die wond en ingewande genees het, is dit maar skok wat ‘n uitwerking op die asemhaling het. Wees seker voor jy uitgaan!
2012 has come and From the desk of gone and as we look Rev Ray Goddess back on 2012 I believe that most people have mixed feelings on the joy, success, sadness in this year. 2012 has been a tough year and there have been many sad cases of businesses closing, retrenchments and struggles physically, emotionally and Spiritually. It Rev Goddess, Heidelberg is at times like this Methodist Church where we reflect on the year that I am so glad that I have my Jesus who I can turn to when I need to be lifted up and encouraged. It is at times like this where I remember how many times I cried out for “help” and my help came from Jesus. As a church we continue to pray for all who believe in Jesus and also for all who are lost and lead a life dependant on the world and the comfort of the world. My heart and prayers go out to those who are struggling and have not got the comfort of Jesus who cares for us all – we just need to accept Jesus as Saviour and enjoy His love and care. As we look at the tough times I am very aware of how businesses are struggling as we are constantly trying to raise funds for our outreach Indawo Yosizo and there are fewer and fewer people who can manage to support us. With this in mind I would like you to look at the graph below and see what we are dealing with. The graph of the number of people we are looking after (both children and adults) keeps on rising and it is becoming more and more difficult for us to provide for the folk.

Food A party to remember! Nigel Rotary Anns handed over 26 food parcels to Tannie Lucille at Laerskool Hannes Visagie as well as 26 chickens, which will all go to families in need this festive season. Handing over the parcels is Adele Arnoldi, president of Nigel Rotary Anns.
A Christmas party was hosted by the Nigel Rotary Anns. More than 250 children enjoyed a pre-Christmas party hosted by the Nigel Rotary Anns at Laerskool Hannes Visagie. Gifts were spon-
sored by the community and Georgina Scott was the organiser of the event. The children had a wonderful time, especially getting gifts from Father Christmas!

Closure of municipal offices leave and travel to their respective home towns during this season, when residents and business need less service offering from the Metro. Meanwhile the municipality wishes to caution residents and business owners to refrain from giving gifts to onduty municipal refuse collection staff this festive season. The Metro disapproves of the presentation of liquor or any other form of gift to its employees while on duty as this practice has a negative effect on service delivery. Communities are also advised to be wary of “informal recyclers” and vagrants who pose as municipal workers, demanding presents and cash payment.

The Ekurhuleni Metro wishes to inform residents and businesses of the closure of council offices between Christmas and New Year. All administrative offices, libraries, selected rates halls and pay points will be closed from December 24 to January 1, 2013 and will re-open on January 2. Essential services, such as refuse collection, electricity and water services, will however be operational. Emergency services and the Ekurhuleni Police are also classified as essential services. A home that needs help

Rotary gives to needy at Laerskool Tini Vorster Merry Chrismas! A healthy and excited 2013 to you all. Thank you for your support!
Robert Arnoldi, president of the Nigel Rotary Club handed over 50 food parcels to Mrs Elsie Delport of Laerskool Tini Vorster for needy families.
Two former Nigel residents, Babsie and Julian Ginder, devote much of their spare time to helping the Nyeleti’s Children’s Home in Benoni. They find their voluntary contribution rewarding and fulfilling. The home is situated in Benoni and is an inter-denominational organisation, caring for abused and homeless children and orphans. The home provides shelter, clothing, food and education to needy children, regardless, of race or creed. Nyeleti’s is completely reliant on donations of any nature including food, clothes, home supplies and money. They have now been waiting for government subsidies or sponsorship for more than six years. Babsie and Julian have been donating food and clothing to the home for four years and feel the need to support the home wherever they can. On a visit to the home in November, they discovered that there was a real need for some painting to be done, especially in the children’s bedrooms. Curtains and curtain rails are needed and there is plenty of repair work to be done such as to shelving. There are two girls’ bedrooms and one large bedroom for the boys. The home is now trying to convert an outside room into a bedroom for the older boys. So any building material donated would be welcomed. Babsie and Julian say that all donations are much appreciated. The house is very clean and much care is given to the outside property. Now there is a plan to grow vegetables for the children’s meals. Donations that cannot be used are usually sold in the tuck shop at the front of the home and the money is used for the needs of the children. The numbers of orphans is increasing daily so an increase in donations would definitely make a difference in the lives of these kids. Such is life…. Graad R kunswedstryd It’s that time of the year again. When you are looking forward to a holiday and also booked your dog in the kennels to have a well deserved break from humans and take a good look at other dogs without wanting to fight them. My experience is not good. Last year the trip to the kennels was not one to remember. Firstly the border collie decided to somehow stick to the ground and I contemplating hiring a fork-lift truck. When I eventually got her in the car the canine eyes told the story. “You are going away and will have a good time and you are dumping me with my blanket and a box of biscuits”. She sat on the back seat and I could feel the doggie resentment on the road. So much so that I passed the kennel turnoff and decided to do two things at once – get my car license disc and drop the dog off on the way back. By the time I got to the license office, the dog had decided to stand on her head on the back seat, with legs splayed out on the back window. Got the license, came back to the car and a friendly man in uniform came up. “Are you OK”? he said. I said I was fine. He then said “Your dog is standing on its head”. I said I knew and that this was perfectly normal. I couldn’t get the attention of the dog because she is deaf and I knew if I touched her she would emit her traditional wolflike howl, which would attract more attention. So back to the kennels, dog delivered with blanket and biscuits in an upright position and one doubtful look as I said my goodbyes and tried – in sign language – to assure her I would be back soon. Now I face the same situation. I really don’t need anyone telling me that my dog’s legs are in the rear window of the car. I spoke to an animal expert about the problem and was told to put a toy dog alongside her in the car. She tore it to pieces. Happy Colliedays!

Residents of the Nigel Old Age Home enjoyed entertainment last week, when they listened to an amusing story and then some music. Snacks and cold drinks were available and residents enjoyed this informal pre-festive function.
SAPS and supported by Playboy Springs and the Dunnottar Community Policing Forum. The jumping castle was a big attraction but then the Station Commander at Dunnottar, Lt
was, of course, the arrival of Father Christmas and the handing out of gifts. There were also snacks to enjoy and this was a day the Chance kids will remember for a long time.

SÊ NOU NET............. Dikwels sal mense sê: A Sê nou net dit of dat gebeur…@ Hierdie uitdrukking beteken dat enige iets moontlik is. Dink maar daaraan hoeveel kere daar iets met jou gebeur het wat jy nooit verwag het nie! Die meeste gebeurtenisse in ons lewens was vir ons almal groot verrassings.
Kyk saam met my na enkele dinge wat jou moontlik kan verras: Sê nou net jy sterf more.... ? Sê nou net die Bybel is waar.... ? Sê nou net daar is >n hemel en >n hel.... ?
Wat is bekering? Die woord kom van die Grieks, metanoia, wat beteken om om te draai. God se Woord, die Bybel, leer dat ons almal op die verkeerde pad is: >n Pad wat weg van God af lei en dat ons almal moet omdraai na God toe. Dít is bekering.
Sien dit so: God het aan my en jou vryheid van keuse gegee. Volgens Openb. 3:20 het Hy aan my en jou die uitnodiging gegee om by Sy liefdesplan in te skakel, maar ons moet >ja= sê en dit beteken om tot bekering te kom. Dit is soos >n bruilof: Daar kan geen bruilof wees as die bruid nie >ja= sê nie! Indien jy nie ‘ja’ sê nie, aanvaar God dat jy Hom verwerp!
Sê nou net dat alles wat jy al die jare geglo het, verkeerd is.... ?
In eenvoudige Afrikaans beteken dit dat ons almal outomaties verlore is en dat niemand outomaties gered is nie. Jy kan nie gered word deur goeie werke of kerklidmaatskap nie. Jy word alleenlik gered deur jou te bekeer – om te draai – na God toe en vir Hom >ja= te sê op Sy uitnodiging.
Maar....
God se plan vir ELKE mens op aarde is as volg:
Sê nou net dat God jou so lief het en dat Hy nie wil hê dat jy verlore moet gaan nie en dat hierdie skrywe spesiaal deur Sy werking JOU pad langs gekom het sodat jy tot bekering kan kom en nooit verlore sal gaan nie.... ?
* BEKEER JOU (Hand. 2:38). Dit beteken om om te draai, weg van sonde af. Breek met alle sonde in jou lewe. Bekering beteken ook om vir Jesus te VRA om jou hele lewe oor te neem en Koning van jou lewe te word (Joh. 1:12).
Natuurlik kan jy hierdie skrywe verwerp as blote snert, MAAR.….. sê nou net dit is dalk waar? Wat dan? Jy is sekerlik >n wyse en verstandige mens. Dink hieraan:
* LAAT JOU DOOP (Hand. 2:38). Die doop is >n simboliese begrafnis (Rom. 6:4). Hierdeur verklaar jy dat die ou sondige mens dood en begrawe is en dat jy as nuwe mens opstaan om vir Jesus Christus te lewe.
a) Weet jy alles wat daar te wete is? Natuurlik sal jy >nee= antwoord.
* BID DAAGLIKS (1Thes. 5:17). Bring jou versoeke na die Here. Dank Hom vir al jou seëninge.
b) Weet jy net die HELFTE van alles wat daar te wete is? Natuurlik sal jy weer ‘nee= antwoord.
* LEES DAAGLIKS DIE WOORD. Begin met die Nuwe Testament met die Evangelie van Johannes. Lees alles, glo alles en pas alles in jou lewe toe.
Sê nou net dat elke mens sonder ware bekering op pad hel toe is.... ?
Sê nou maar net dat ware bekering die een ding is wat in die helfte is waarvan jy nie weet nie? Kan jy sien dat dit dwaas sou wees om enige inligting te verwerp sonder noukeurige ondersoek? Die Bybel is argeologies, histories en profeties al male sonder tal deur onpartydige weten-skaplikes as 100% korrek bewys. Dit is die ENIGSTE dokument op die hele aarde wat 100% Waarheid bevat. Satan werk uiters hard om valse bybels te versprei, maar die Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling stel dit duidelik dat sonder bekering die mens verlore sal gaan!
* SKAKEL BY >N GEMEENTE IN (Hebr. 10:25). Soek vir jou >n gemeente waar jy geleer word in die Woord van die Here, waar Jesus Christus alleenlik verheerlik word en waar daar ware liefde onder die mense is (Joh. 13:34-35). Het jy al tot bekering gekom? Sê nou net dit is alles 100% waar....? Sê nou net dat God self hierdie blad in jou hand geplaas het en dat Hy op jou wag...?
Kyk versigtig na 2 Pet. 3:9:
Sê nou net jy sterf vannag.... ?
ADie Here vertraag nie die belofte soos sommige dit vertraging ag nie, maar Hy is lankmoedig oor ons en wil nie hê dat sommige moet vergaan nie, maar dat almal tot bekering moet kom.@
En dan.... ?
Hier staan dit geskrywe in God se Woord dat: a) God is geduldig met ons almal.
Sê nou net jy is >n wyse en verstandige mens en dat jy nou op jou knieë gaan en Hom om vergifnis vra vir jou sondes en dat jy jou hele lewe aan Jesus Christus gee.... ? En dan.... ?
b) God wil nie dat enige mens verlore gaan nie.
Sê nou net Hy verander jou lewe dan radikaal in alle opsigte.....omdat jy dan Sy kosbare kind is!
c) God se plan is dat ek en jy nie verlore moet gaan nie, maar dat ons almal tot bekering moet kom.
