Wally is tevrede dat die Alra Park swembad, wat al vir jare sonder water was en toegelaat is om te verval, vanjaar nog volkome herstel en weer vir die publiek oopgestel sal word. Tenders en ander prosedures is reeds afgehandel en konstruksie behoort eersdaags ‘n aanvang te neem. Ons jeug kan verseker wees dat die Alra Park swembad voor die einde van die jaar benut sal kan word. Soos inwoners bewus is, is daar reeds n begin gemaak met die oprigting van die nuwe Visagie
Die Nigel Raadskantoor wat uiteindelik opgeknap gaan word. Die koste van hierdie kantore tesame met die Alra Park swembad en Visagie Park watertoring gaan ongeveer R15 miljoen beloop om op te gradeer.

What is it all about? There are more and more folk who are asking questions about Jesus and Christianity. One of the big problems is that there are very few places where folk can go and find the answer. Let us face facts, most churches preach to those who know the Gesinne wat Lord and not specifically for those who saam kuier want to get to know the Lord. We at Heidelberg Methodist Church are committed to reach out to the community of Heidelberg and believe in the allinclusive ministry of Jesus Christ. One of the ways we aim to do this is to make the ALPHA course available to all people from all walks of life and from all denominations. Our intension is NOT to take people away from their local church but rather to equip them and then send them back to their own community “on fire for God”. The people who have questions about the Christian faith can come without any threat and listen and learn. The “unchurched” people who come on the course will obviously be able to choose where they go and which church they join. But what is ALPHA? It is a 10 week course starting on Sunday 7 July 2006. Balfour: Mzwakhe Mnguni (24) of Siyathemba location near Balfour was sentenced to 10 years in prison at the Balfour Magistrate Court on June 13, 2013. He was found guilty of Armed Robbery. According to the investigating officer D/ Const Madonsela, Mnguni and three accomplices were arrested by Const PS Tshabalala on February 5th, 2013, after being found in possession of suspected stolen cellphones, they were denied bail and remained in custody. Speak it, live it! Deuteronomy 6: 6 "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up”. Parenting, and in particular with reference to Fathers’ day, fathering is a very serious matter to God. We see in Exodus 20:12 that the command to honour our parents is the first command that is issued with a promise of blessing for obedience to it. In Ephesians 6:1-3 Paul instructs the people to be obedient to their parents. Being a good parent, starts with being a good child. God expects us to honour our parents not because they deserve it based on how they parented, but because it is right. Once we understand the beautiful dynamic of honouring in obedience to God and not in response to failure or circumstances, we can also take up the responsibility of fathering not only our own children, but also our communities and nation. The Bible teaches two very important principles when it comes to parenting: We parent with words (Deuteronomy 6:6-7): As parents we are responsible
for teaching both our physical and our spiritual children the word. We are to speak it at every opportunity we get, as often as we can. It is important that what we speak should always align with the Word of God. We parent through our lives: Our biological make-up is such that we have a natural tendency to imitate and pattern ourselves according to what we see in the people we love and regard as role models. Because of this tendency, children will do what they are told in order to avoid punishment, but in the absence of negative consequences, they will revert to the example that was set rather than the instructions that were given. Our most important priority is to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. In Luke 2:49 we find twelve year old Jesus telling His parents that He is all about His Father’s business. Today, as His children, we still have the same business – loving people in such a way that it connects them to the Father, not only our own families and children, but also our communities, our nation and our continent. Join us today as we embrace the responsibility we have to love, to lead and to lay down our lives in order to raise up a God-generation!

The competition just keeps getting better and better, and it’s becoming harder for the judges to decide who continues through to the next round. Contestant Alicia Opperman, all the way from Rustenburg, competed for the second time during Heidelberg Club’s 7th heat round on June 13th. She gave an outstanding performance and was voted the best competitor for the evening. Heidelberg Club is one of nine Clubs in Gauteng that is hosting the competition and also the only club that’s offering weekly prizes for the competitor who gets the most points. Double tickets for the Lions vs Stormers game was given to 13 lucky
people, sponsored by the Suikerbos Junior Rugby Club. With the 8th heat round on June 20th, Pieter Naude was voted best competitor for the evening, as the scores was very close.
