Hierdie manne het saam kragte gesnoer om herlewing regoor Suid-Afrika deur musiek aan te vuur. Jan de Wet, Leon Ferreira, Willie Joubert en Rudi Muller het die luisteraar weereens op ‘n kragtige geestelike reis geneem. Manne wat Glo 3 is meer as net ‘n musiekalbum. Dit is ‘n skatkis van liedere gesing deur vier erkende solo-kunstenaars wat hulle ongelooflike sang- en skryftalent en liefde vir die Here saamsnoer. Petro is op Maandag, 19 Februarie oorlede nadat sy ‘n beroerte gekry het. Petro het die 23ste Desember haar 50ste verjaarsdag gevier. Hanno eienaar van Nigel Wimpy vertel dat Petro beslis deur die bestuur en die personeel gemis gaan word. Haar vriendelikheid was aan almal bekend en haar lojalitiet teenoor die onderneming van uiters hoë standaard. Sy wou altyd net weet waar kan sy help. Haar plekkie gaan leeg wees en sy het selfs diep spore in die gemeenskap se harte gelaat.

Daar was ook 2 uitstallers by die vergadering Annemarie Stevens met haar Stainless Steel ware en Rensia van Heerden met haar prag pêrels, albei items wat na aan elke vrou se hart lê. Monica Snyman, maatskaplike werkster van Nigel Tehuis was die gasspreker en het die dames oor gelig oor Alzheimer en demensie pasiënte en hoe sulke mense gehelp en versorg kan word. Desiree Human het die engelse skryfster Amanda Coetzer se boek van die jaar bekendgestel en daaruit voorgelees.

VAT increased to 15% Government has proposed a one percentage point increase in the value-added tax (VAT) rate to 15%. The increase was widely anticipated in tax circles as it is arguably the most effective way of raising signif icant amounts of additional revenue. National Treasury expects the hike, which will take effect on April 1 2018, to raise the lion’s share (R22.9 billion) of the R36
billion in additional taxes it hopes to collect in 2018/19 to stabilise the country’s fiscal situation. “We have not adjusted VAT since 1993, and it is low compared to some of our peers. We therefore decided that increasing VAT was unavoidable if we are to maintain the integrity of our public finances,” finance minister Malusi Gigaba announced during his budget speech in Febraury.

Counterfeit money Duduza SAPS arrested a learner with counterfeit money worth R47 000. Police received a report from an educator that one of the learners in the high school was in possession of fake R100 notes worth about R5000.00. The police followed up and after investigating the learners house they recovered the notes. According to a teacher they saw the learner with this huge bundle of notes then alerted the police who acted swiftly before the notes could be circulated.

Grateful citizen from Johannesburg reported that on Saturday, February 17 at about 13:30 he had a blow out on his caravan 20 kilo’s from Heidelberg and the biker behind him missed the debris. The biker stopped picked up what could be used and then pulled up next to me. We battled for 2 hours in the hot sun to fix the damage. His wife arrived from
Heidelberg also to help. I decided the best was to return to Johannesburg once the spare wheel was f ixed. The citizens of Heidelberg can be proud to have people like Mr & Mrs Freddie van der Merwe. In the times we live people are hesitant to assist motorists standing next to the road. I am extremely grateful for this couples courtesy. Best regards Len

Swem 3 Kamp ‘n eerste vir Nigel Swimming Sensations, die alom bekende swemskool in Nigel maak geskiedenis en bied die eerste 3 Kamp kompetisie hier plaaslik aan. Magda is al vir die afgelope 18 jaar bekend daarvoor dat sy swemlesse en water aerobics aanbied. Sy lief dit om met mense te werk en van water kan jy haar nie weghou nie. Alle ouderdomme, mans sowel as vroue is welkom by die swemskool. As jy 2 jaar oud is kwalifiseer jy om prettig
saam te kom baljaar. Die 3 Kamp wat op 18 Februarie plaasgevind het, het bestaan uit fietsry, hardloop en swem. Elke deelnemer het ‘n medalje ontvang wat die wedren voltooi het. Natuurlik was daar in elke kategorie ‘n eerste, tweede en derde plek wenner. Elke ouer of familielid wat deelgeneem het moes ‘n item aanpak en voltooi. Dit was ‘n skaterlag pretvol byeekoms wat nie sommer gou vergeet sal word nie.

Die goeie nuus is dat alle ledegelde vir 2018 geensins gaan verhoog nie, dit dieselfde as verlede jaar. Die muurbalklub het ‘n bestuur wat uit die lede aangewys word en dan sy gewone lede. Die klub is afhanklik van elke lid se ledegeld wat betaalbaar is voor 31 Maart. Lede word vriendelik gevra om soos altyd getrou hul ledegeld te betaal voor die afsny datum. Dit is die klub se enigste inkomste en daarsonder sal die klub tot niet gaan. Ledegelde vir 2018 is as volg vasgestel: Eerste Lid: R 1500.00 per jaar. Tweede Lid in gesin: R 800.00 per jaar.
