ASHEVILLE OWLS TRAINING
We are always in a state of becoming. Teachings of existentialist Soren Kierkegaard and folk legend Bob Dylan alike cast our awareness to this concept, this state which is constant and has no end.
When it comes to your beliefs around fitness remain vigilant that you are in a constant state of becoming. Say it with me—preferably out loud— “I am in a constant state of becoming.”

Do you feel how this new belief does the following: • It dissipates the illusion of being “in shape” or “out of shape”. You are neither. You are becoming. • It protects you from the inevitable defeat of racing toward an imaginary finish line. Back to Bob Dylan: “We have never arrived.
We are in a constant state of becoming.” • It makes room for pleasure on this journey. Step into this state.
Move your body daily from a place of gratitude and capacity, rather than self-doubt or any other negative emotion.
Now that you have shifted your mindset, I challenge you to answer this question… Pertaining to your physical fitness, what are you becoming? Faster, stronger, leaner, more agile, more toned? When you embrace the mindset of becoming, you can become all of these things at any age through the actions of 1 single fitness modality: strength training. And when you commit to a simple strength training routine just 2-3 days per week, you will undoubtedly like what you are becoming. This newfound strength will support you in an infinite amount of ways, including an improved golf game.
