bordeaux’s poetical spring While the pruning of the vines comes gradually to an end in the Bordeaux vineyards, the South wind brings warmth and announces the coming of Spring. At the doors of Bordeaux, Nature invites us to experience the Awakening. Let us stride through the freshness of the morning mist, observe the tears of sap appearing on the tips of the pruned branches, discover the first buds bursting into life after the vine’s winter rest and feel the caress of the setting sun on the aristocratic-trained vines, full of promise. Soon, in a few weeks time, the fascinating Vitis Vinifera will enter a new era of its annual cycle : the future flowering and fruit-set paving the way to the grape’s birth and future conversion into the “nectar of the gods”. Just like the perpetual renewal of the vine, consistency and surprises will be the hallmarks of Baghera’s Spring Wine o’clocks. Thus, I have the tremendous pleasure to introduce our “Bordeaux Terroirs” Wine o’clock sale. This Swiss private collection presents a selection of the finest Bordeaux appellations and some rarities that lovers of mature wine will definitely appreciate. Pétrus, Margaux, Mouton Rothschild, Haut-Brion… these names ring out through our passion for wine. Furthermore, this Wine o’clock is a great opportunity to bargain-hunt some carefully selected clarets (many offered in their original wooden cases). Amongst them: Vieux Château Certan, Pichon Comtesse, Pavie, Figeac, Montrose, Mission-Haut-Brion, Cos d’Estournel, Ducru-Beaucaillou, Lynch-Bages… from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. “Bordeaux Terroirs” Wine o’clock will start at 2pm precisely on Tuesday 14 th of March ( Swiss time ! ). Be on time, it will go fast and us Swiss don’t mess with time ! Julie Carpentier, Wine Strategy Advisor
