“The thirst that from the soul doth rise Doth ask a drink divine…” “ To Celia ” by Ben Jonson
h oo k e d o n b u rg u n dy The Burgundian vineyard is one of France’s most coveted and envied jewels. Despite its century-long history, it has not been spared from the contemporary speculation on French vine lands. While the wine landscape news is littered with regular vineyard acquisitions, the purchase of the renowned Clos de Tart of Morey-St-Denis by the holding Artemis Group (François Pinault) was publicly disclosed last week. With the on-going global demand for world-class Burgundy – inducing fierce biddings of luxury groups (amongst other investors) on already stupendous priced hectares on both Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune – the speculation on the vineyard land is only in its early days. As impassioned Burgundy-lovers, Baghera/wines are thrilled to present their next Wine o’clock auction – “ Hooked on Burgundy ” – a meticulous selection of desirable white and red outstanding Burgundy wines. Amongst other highlights, wine-enthusiasts will be offered 06/07/09/10 Montrachet from Drouhin (Marquis de Laguiche), Comtes Lafon and Domaine Leflaive. The “ crème de la crème ” of Pinots Noirs will surely captivate all seasoned wine-collectors : Henri Jayer’s Échézeaux and Vosne-Romanée from the 80s and 90s, several formats of Romanée-Conti, Clos de Tart, Perrot-Minot’s Vieilles Vignes, Ponsot’s grands crus, and G. Roumier’s legendary Bonnes-Mares and Musigny in pristine condition. Our “ Hooked on Burgundy ” Wine o’clock will start on Tuesday 21st of November at precisely 2pm. Be on time – it will go fast, and us Swiss don’t mess with time ! Julie Carpentier, Wine Strategy Advisor
