“ Inebriate of air – am I – And Debauchee of Dew – Reeling – thro’ endless summer days – From inns of molten Blue… ” “ I taste a liquor never brewed ” by Emily Dickinson
mister bordsky As autumn comes to an end in the Northern hemisphere, the vineyards’ radiant foliage gives way to the muted colours of winter’s dormancy. As temperature further decreases, vines enter into their winter sleep, a “shut down” during the colder months. Still, vines are not completely inactive when dormant : they do respire to maintain basic metabolic functions. And as spring will arrive in a few month’s time, once buds will have sufficiently benefited from higher temperatures, they will burst and thus unveil a new annual cycle. This late fall season and the soon coming Christmas celebrations are the perfect timing for a wine treasure hunt ! Hence, Baghera/wines are thrilled to present their next Wine o’clock auction “ Mr. Bordsky ” : an astounding Swiss private collection of fine Champagnes, world-class red & sweet Bordeaux (including a wide range of large formats), top-Rhones, Tuscans, great Ports, amazing rare whiskies and Cuban cigars. Amongst the many highlights included in this auction, wine enthusiasts will be thrilled to discover Krug and Bollinger topcuvées, magnums of Lafite Rothschild 1961, Richebourg DRC 1983 or Vega Sicilia “ Unico ” 1998, a jeroboam of Lafite 1990, imperials of Palmer 1983, Mission Haut-Brion 1993 or Masseto 2012, a nabuchodonosor of Yquem 2013, a rare Melchior of Phélan-Ségur 2011, cases of Hommage à Jacques Perrin 2012, dozen bottles of Pégau Cuvée da Capo 2010 or Gaja Brabaresco 1998, bottles of Quinta do Noval 1937, 1952 & 1964. For the delight of whisky lovers, a rarely-seen selection of fine and rare flasks is also offered at the occasion of this Wine o’clock N°17 : a unique 15th annual release Port Ellen vertical, a bottle of White Bowmore 1964 43 yo, a Brora 1977 24 yo, a Laphroaig 30 yo, a Lagavullin 1976 30 yo and two Karuizawa 1981 (30 yo and 33 yo) amongst many other great bottles. Last but not least, a fine selection of Cuban cigars (Roméo & Julieta, Montecristo, Hoyo de Monterrey, Partagas, Ramon & Allones…) close this incredible collection. So, succumb to the pleasure of this treasure hunt and good luck with your bids ! Our “ Mr. Bordsky ” Wine o’clock will start on Tuesday 12th of December at 2 pm on the dot, Swiss time. Be on time — it will go fast and us Swiss don’t mess with time ! Julie Carpentier, Wine Strategy Advisor
