MARCH 2023 Bahrain This Month
Welcome to another exciting edition of Bahrain This Month. March is set to be a very exciting month in the Kingdom with plenty happening across the island. In true Bahrain This Month style, we’re here to tell you how to make the most of it.
Shifting things up a gear this month is the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix – a highlyanticipated event on Bahrain’s social calendar. Things won’t die down following the race though, with the Spring of Culture, stand-up comedy acts and more taking place throughout the month. You’ll find plenty to do in our Happenings pages and on bahrainthismonth.com.
In our interview section this month, we speak to the First Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council, HE Jamal Mohamed Abdulrahman Fakhroo, who explains the significance of the 146th Inter Parliamentary Union Assembly which will be hosted by the Parliament of Bahrain this month. We also speak to the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, HE Masayuki Miyamoto, who is determined to further promote even closer relations between the two countries.
We also talk to Shaikha Maram Al Khalifa about the return of the Bahrain International Garden Show after an absence of three years; bigger, brighter and better than ever before. You cannot fail to be inspired by the talented Bahraini Chef Tala who was named ‘MENA’s Best Female Chef 2022’ and recently received a trio of awards for her restaurant, Fusions By Tala. You can also read about Cabale Exquise, a truly unique bespoke event agency which shall soon be offering its services on the island.
Going hand-in-hand with the exciting events taking place, are some of the finest dining options courtesy of the Kingdom’s hospitality venues. I must mention that a venue you absolutely cannot miss out on visiting throughout the month is the opulent Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort and Spa. Our team has collated some of the very best dining options which includes some of the very best iftars and ghabgas for the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan. You’ll also find our reviews of the vibrant brunch at The K Hotel, and our thoughts on the recently opened restaurant, Kula, which serves delectable African cuisine – a first for the Kingdom.
The Kingdom is known for having a multinational population, but not everyone knows Arabic! Hamzah Ramadan shares his thoughts on why expats should learn the language. Be sure to flip through our pages and catch up with the latest in motoring and business news too.
On March 8, the world will mark International Women’s Day to celebrate the achievements of women all across the world.
