Located bet ween the Blue and G old baseball f ie ld s at t h e CiCo Par k B aseball complex, the new B rett B olton M em o r ial Pav ilio n will b e construc ted d ur i ng the summer of 2012. The p av ilio n will se r ve fo r the var i ous pur poses that happen si multaneou sly wit h t h e su m m e r baseball season. As vi si tors walk d own the si d ewalk head i ng sout h f ro m t h e h e ar t o f t h e f i eld s, the guests wi ll be greeted by an elegant gre y an d d ar k b lu e f ab r ic roof sli ghtly f loati ng on a summer breeze, cre at in g a f aint, r hyt h m ic pulsi ng noi se as i t r i ses and f alls wi th the wi nd to in st ill a se n se o f ai r y relaxati on. The user wi ll then follow the p at h an d b e gre e te d by a concrete and steel column reachi ng toward s t h e sk y an d ac t in g as the struc tural suppor t for the enti re pavi li on. O n t h is co lu m n re sid e s B rett ’s name engraved on a plaq ue to show that t h e p av ilio n was b u ilt i n hi s memor y. Und er the canvas roof, that p rov id e s sh e lte r d u r in g d ar k weather, whi le allowi ng the roof to glow wit h any lig ht, is an elli pti cal concrete slab. Concrete benches ci rcu m n av ig ate t h e ex te r io r of the space, creati ng var yi ng levels of seati ng an d e ve n a co u nte r space. When the user ar r i ves at the back of the p av ilio n , t h e y wit n e ss a large per forated metal screen wi th a baseb all g love an d b ase b all nestled i nsi d e, wi th sunli ght shi ni ng through to c ast sh ad ows o n t h e pavi li on f loor and counter top.
