The catalogue has been completely restyled and is full of new, innovative, and trendsetting products with which we are going to confront out competition with full confidence. The secret of the success of our products is our devotion for quality, usability, design and eye for detail. Of course, we also always keep in mind that the product has to be fair priced and affordable for everyone. Like the past 3 years, our extremely popular carp brand MAD® has a special separate place in the catalogue. Well accepted by carp cracks all over Europe, the brand has managed to earn itself a place between the established top brands in the scene. Many MAD® products have been rewarded with outstanding test results and are setting new standards in the market. Certain to be recognized by older anglers amongst us: The first appearance of what was to become D.A.M.
The oldest German fixed reel, QUICK速 STANDARD. Even then it was available either with or without meter counter. The DAMYL速 family around 1900.

These reels are made of solid brass and are much sought amongst antiques collectors!
As fresh and successful today as it was then. The ingenious design of the first EFFZETT速.
Suppliers of quality in every area of angling, D.A.M was also one of the pioneers of fly-fishing. Every flyfisher with a feel for tradition will recognize this reel.

tradition and up-to-date appearance
AIRWAY – the name for telescopic rods (a D.A.M. speciality). Together with QUICK® reels these rods are what gave “fishing tackle made in Germany” its reputation.
Since generations we have inspired many competitors and "copy makers"! And why not? Anyhow, for a successful original there can’t be a higher evaluation than being copied by less creative people, because nobody would ever try to copy a less successful product. So, being measured at the number of copies we already could regard ourselves easily as "market leader” again. Due to this reason we have decided to name some of our key products "Das Original" (= The Original) in the future. Moreover we will of course keep holding on to our slogan "innovation instead of imitation" and will so continue to set standards in the future. Also regarding the features of several products we will keep holding on to the truth instead of following the general trend of exaggeration and we are pretty sure that this strategy will pay off sooner or later due to the old wisdom "honesty will last longest". So all in all we are quite well equipped to meet the combination of tradition and up-to-date appearance!
This reel is still to be found in many fishing cupboards today. For an extremely reasonable price even then, in lean times, it enabled average earners to approach the water equipped with a modern reel.

The drag knob which can be turned in a firm position is a further development of our Rear Drag systems. During drag pull or release the drag knob forms and homogenous unit with the reel body. Thus neither dirt or water can penetrate in to the drag.
Our patented Quick® Snap handle system enables you to easily fold out the handle with just one single touch! This way you are able to store multiple rods in one hold-all safely without damaging any guides or DAMYL® line during transport.

Reels which are mainly used in saltwater are equipped with high-quality stainless steel ball bearings. Double-sealing keeps the grease in the bearing and prevents aggressive saltwater from penetrating. Your guarantee for smooth running and trouble – free function even in rigorous conditions.
The effective front drag system is completely integrated into the spool. Through the bigger drag surface the drag force can be well adjusted in a sensitive as well as in a powerful way.
A special needle bearing stops the rotor with perfect accuracy from running backward. So you are always in direct contact with the fish which makes lightning fast and penetrating strikes possible.
When developing our free-spool reels, we attached greatest importance to safe and easy handling. For this reason, the release lever is positioned at the rear of the reel. Our Free-Spool technique guarantees that, with closed bail, the fish can take line without feeling any resistance. By using the crank, the pre-adjusted drag power engages immediately and the fish can be played in the usual manner.
Enables extended spool lift which is a major feature of modern long-range casting reels. DAMYL® is perfectly laid over the entire spool length for long and accurate casts.

QUICK® high-performance reels come with precise, lightweight metal line spools. They guarantee high stability of shape even when braided lines are used. The metal lip is specially polished to protect against deposits of dirt and friction. These spools bring the angler closer to the fish by a decisive few meters.
ellipTiCal osCillaTion sysTem The new patented EOS – Elliptical Oscillation System is basically logical evolution of our worldwide known S-curve system. EOS gives the reel outstanding smooth gearing, an extremely even line lay and a longer lifetime than conventional reels.

The outstanding S-Stroke-System of D.A.M. directs the spool lift in a way that criss-cross lay of DAMYL® on the spool is made possible. Thus, even thin or wet, braided lines do not cut in and glide off smoothly and perfectly.
The Line Distance Control system enables the angler to exactly fix the line length after casting out, so that the feeding spot or the spot in front of an obstacle can be precisely reached cast after cast.

The Line Lay Adjustment System offers the possibility to adjust the winding point of a reel individually and thus to ensure perfect line-lay with different kinds of line with different diameters.
The Micro-Fine Drag adjustment was developed for fishing with thin lines, fine traces and for even more faster reaction of the drag system. It takes the strain off the DAMYL® during the decisive stages of playing the fish and avoids right from the beginning unintended line-breaking.
Anti-Vibro-System of D.A.M. includes dynamic balancing of flange and crank providing almost vibration-free running for more comfortable fishing and increased durability of the reel.

qUiCk® m After the very successful and EFTTEX awarded introduction of our “Retro” reel series Quick® 1000 – 4000 FD in 2007, we set ourselves several new goals in the fishing reel development. Following our basic tradition of trendsetting innovation combined with technical passion, we decided to go one step further in the Magnesium reel technology and the Quick® M series is the according result! Every single part has been designed under the aspect of saving weight and gaining stability, so body, side plate, rotor and even the drag pin are made of 100 % Magnesium! The spool and most other parts are made from high grade Aluminium. This makes the reel about double as stable as a similar Aluminium reel, but as light weight or even lighter than a Graphite reel of comparable size. Using the traditional D.A.M. push button system also for front drag reels allows a spool change within seconds. The drag itself is completely sealed, waterproof and micro adjustable. Another innovation is the especially shaped rubber cork handle knob that provides an unmatched grip and feeling. Moreover the reel consists of a complete rubber sealing of the side plate, of both sides of the handle connection, of the instant anti-reverse system as well as of the front drag system that protects the reel 100 % against penetrating water. Available in 4 sizes from 100 m / 0,25 mm to 100 m / 0,55 mm!

qUiCk® a-HeaD Saying that Quick® A-Head is not just a name, but a philosophy, the New D.A.M. has set up a completely new distance casting concept for a wide range of users. This includes many kinds of spinning, but also match and feeder fishing. The “trick” thereby is a quite low profile spool with an extraordinary big diameter. This reduces friction dramatically and casting becomes a totally new experience compared to “normal” reels. 1.) When using braided line of the same diameter, 10 to 15 % of the mentioned length should be deducted because of product specific characteristics and the way it is winded on the spool. 2.) Also when using monofilament lines there can be a deviation of approx. 5 – 10% because of the different ways of line production or how the line is being winded on the spool. When spooling is done using a spooling machine, the line will be tighter on the spool which also means a few more meters extra on it than spooling by hand.

Just as with our Quick® A-Head spinning reels we wanted to be one step ahead of competition with the development of our Quick® A-Head BaitCast reel. This we have managed to achieve in even multiple ways and therefore these reels combine features that currently cannot be found at any other comparable baitcast reel. This for example includes the complete aluminium construction of housing, both side plates, spool, handle, star drag and adjustment knob which provides unbelievable strength and durability to the reel and makes it perfectly suitable for fishing with braided lines. For weight reduction as well as for smoother casting and turning the spool has been drilled and machine cut. With a super high speed gear ratio of 7.1:1 this baitcast reel retrieves as fast as a normal spinning reel, so the angler doesn't need to adapt to
it. The big needle bearing constantly assures an instant antireverse, even under extreme conditions like while jerking. The star drag as well as the adjustment knob are equipped with clearly recognizable rest positions. For a quick and easy spool change the side plate features a simple push button system. As a very special technical highlight the centrifugal spool drag is equipped with a 7 positions rest system. The numbering can be seen through a small window in the side plate. It can be hold by a small knob in the side plate and by turning the spool it can be set to the required number. Thereby an unintended reset is made impossible. Beside all that this reel is not just a technical highlight, but also the attractive and unusual design makes it outstanding and perfectly matching our Quick® A-Head spinning reels.

techNical FeatUreS:
At the start of every new season, DAM is setting new standards in rod design and technology. Last year for example, we introduced the Nanoflex rods which became a gigantic selling hit! This year is no different, as we proudly introduce the brand new innovative Spezi Alert rods. We have successfully managed to integrate a micro bite alarm inside each rod that alerts you with both a visual and audio signal! The bite alarm has been designed inside the screw-on butt cap and is therefore barely noticeable at first glance. The big advantage is that the angler won’t be needing a separate bite indicator anymore and that the rod itself functions as both rod and bite alarm! The series consists of 5 target fish rods and one allrounder, that are all designed for static bottom fishing. This means that that there is a perfect Spezi Alert for everybody. Not only have we focused on the bite indicator feature, we also made sure the rods meet our quality and action standards. The rods are made out of TC 24 A carbon and equipped with stable gunsmoke SIC guides and an ABS-graphite reel seat.

hOw DOeS it wOrk? Contact between the full carbon line clip and the blank will set off the alarm in the rear of the rod. The alarm will react with a constant, very annoying high pitch and the transparent DAM logo will light up very bright.

Thanks to specifically designed rod actions, only three kinds of casting weights are necessary for the most popular types of fishing: 5 – 20 g / 15 – 40 g: Perch, trout, whitefish, zander, light carp fishing. 30 – 80 g: Carp, heavy zander fishing, barbel, spin fishing for pike, zander and seatrout. 60 – 160 g: Heavy fishing for pike with baitfish, heavy carp fishing, perk fishing, fishing for herring and salmon. power tip As a speciality the PYTHON series offers rods in the so called POWER-TIP construction! In the more sensitive tip section glas fibres are melted around a carbon core under high pressure and temperature. The carbon thereby still ensures a certain lightness and stiffness and the special glas fibre takes care about the extremely high flexibility and breakage safety. Depending on the length and casting weight these tips have been tested with bending curves of 180 – 270 degrees. As these figures can’t be reached in practical fishing and even under extreme conditions bending curves never exceed 120 – 150 degrees, these tips can truly be named as almost unbreakable.
