Balcony design Canary Wharf, London E14 Date: March 2010 Brief: To provide a design for the balcony. The owner enjoys cooking but travels extensively with work and therefore wants something that is easy to care for. Also the view of the Thames and beyond is important to maintain whether sitting inside or out.
Balcony Design, Canary Wharf E14 It was important that the view of the river was not obstructed whether siDng on the balcony or in the living room. Therefore I opted for planters to either side of the balcony
Using two white planters will increase the brightness of the balcony Also these planters have an easy water systems integrated which will help to ease the maintenance required, especially when away for business trips The plan<ng will be a combina<on of so= flowering plants as well a numerous edibles (herbs, vegetables and fruit) which will be great for cooking. A climbing plant (tbc) will also be used against the side wall to brighten up that end of the balcony. The simple clean lines of the bistro set will form a great combina<on with the white planters.
