Why UBUD? • Ubud is a remarkable village in the middle of the island. For more than a century, it has been the island's pre-eminent centre for fine arts, dance and music.
Why UBUD? • Ubud is very familiar to the organising staff from St Peter’s. We have a good understanding of the area and have many contacts in and around Ubud.
Why UBUD? • Ubud is a close-knit community. It offers a greater sense of security than some of the larger centres on the coast. Our students will be made to feel part of the village and will be safe.
Why UBUD? • Ubud is the centre of the arts in Bali. It will cater very well to the needs of our students. Musicians, artists and chefs are within close reach.

HEALTH ISSUES Please speak to your family doctor as soon as possible to gain advise. It is generally considered essential that travellers to Bali are vaccinated for the following. Tetanus Hepatitis A and B It is also recommended that a course of Anti-Malarial medication is taken. There are several options in this regard – please discuss this with your doctor. The drinking of bottled water is advisable whilst in Bali.
PASSPORTS These should be arranged as soon as possible. The College will need to supply Wyong Travel with passport information so please address this necessity ASAP.
TRAVEL INSURANCE It is an expectation that all members of the group have adequate travel insurance. For your convenience, Wyong Travel has supplied insurance forms for your perusal. There is also a discount being offered for our group. Feel free to use other sources of insurance. The College will however, require a photocopy of the insurance details for our records.
Managing your money
Managing money in Bali is relatively straight forward. Options are: Traveller’s Cheques: Ubud and the rest of Bali have ample access to Money Changers where traveller’s cheques can be cashed in. This can at times be difficult, particularly when not familiar with exchange rates and the deft hand of the Balinese business man! Cash: Once again Money Changers will exchange bank notes willingly. There is an added security risk with carrying large sums of money. Safes are available for us to use at both accommodation locations. ATM Access: Ubud has a number of ATM access points. Whilst sometimes they are out of action, generally they are reliable. Rupiah is converted via your own bank at current exchange rates. Please discuss options with you own bank. Visa is widely accepted in larger stores and restaurants. A combination of the above is perhaps a wise option.
