TRULY A TEAM HONOR Ravens Tie Pro Bowl Record with 12 Selections By Jack Carney There has been no shortage of memorable moments during this 2019 Baltimore Ravens season. Beyond their 13-2 record, the Ravens have produced countless jaw-dropping plays, inspiring soundbites and statistical milestones – all signifiers of just how special this team is. On December 17, another one of these moments came when the NFL named 12 Ravens to the initial Pro Bowl roster, tying an NFL record set by the 1973 Miami Dolphins. Nine of the selections are “homegrown players,” six being Ravens' draft picks and three who were signed as rookie free agents by Baltimore. The other three Pro Bowlers were key additions to the roster by the team's exceptional personnel staff in 2019. Although technically singular honors, these awards also point to the strength of the squad as a whole. “We’re very proud of it,” head coach John Harbaugh said. “It’s like all these individual awards in the ultimate team sport – it really is a team honor. You take pride in it as a coach, and I know the teammates take pride in it because it’s football, and everybody works together.”

TE MARK ANDREWS – FIRST PRO BOWL

Andrews adds Pro Bowl honors to an already record-breaking campaign. He leads all tight ends in touchdown catches (10), which also sets the Ravens’ single-season franchise mark for a tight end. He’s also posted the league’s fifth-most receiving yards (852) and sixth-most receptions (64) by a tight end.

LS MORGAN COX (STARTER) – THIRD PRO BOWL

This marks Cox’s third Pro Bowl, but his first as selected by NFL players and coaches. Cox snaps for Justin Tucker, the most accurate (90.6%) kicker in NFL history, who ranks second in the league this season with a 96.0% success rate (24 of 25). Cox also snaps for punter Sam Koch, who has posted a 46.4-yard gross average and 39.9-yard net average this season.

CB MARLON HUMPHREY – FIRST PRO BOWL

Humphrey earns his first-career Pro Bowl after recording three interceptions, a team-best 14 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries – two of which he returned for touchdowns. “Marlon is a linebacker playing corner, both attitude-wise and by style of play. And I think that he's like this city: He's just a tough, hard-nosed guy that comes to work every day and brings his lunch pail and gives it his best every single snap. That's why he was voted to be a Pro Bowl player, I believe. It's just everybody can appreciate and respect his work ethic and how tough he is.” – Defensive Coordinator Don Martindale

RB MARK INGRAM II – THIRD PRO BOWL

In his first season as a Raven, Ingram earns this third-career Pro Bowl upon ranking No. 3 (tied) in the NFL with 15 total touchdowns (10 rushing & five receiving). His 10 rushing touchdowns are seventh most, while his 1,018 rushing yards stand No. 11. Finally, his leadership on and off the field has made a huge impact on this Ravens team. “He means a lot to us. He's the heart of the team, to me. Each and every game, each and every practice, each and every day it's just Mark. And what you guys see on TV is what you get throughout the days, behind the scenes. That's Mark, and we love it. He brings the groove to the team, the excitement.” – QB Lamar Jackson

QB LAMAR JACKSON (STARTER) – FIRST PRO BOWL Jackson’s list of accomplishments in 2019 speaks for itself. The league MVP candidate has led Baltimore to a 13-2 record and helped the Ravens produce single-season franchise records for total touchdowns (62), points (503) and rushing yards (3,073). He became the only quarterback in NFL history to produce at least 3,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in a single season. His 1,206 rushing yards are the most by a quarterback in NFL single-season history. He has been responsible for an NFL-best 43 total touchdowns (36 passing & seven rushing), and his league-leading 36 touchdown passes are the most in a season in franchise history.

OLB MATTHEW JUDON – FIRST PRO BOWL Judon is one of four NFL defenders (Shaquil Barrett, Chandler Jones & T.J. Watt) in 2019 to register at least eight sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 25 quarterback hits and three forced fumbles. He has tallied team highs in sacks (8.5), TFL (13) and quarterback hits (30) this season, helping Baltimore’s defense rank third in points (18.1) and fifth in yards (309.4 ypg) allowed per game.

CB MARCUS PETERS – THIRD PRO BOWL A now three-time Pro Bowler, Peters, who was traded from the L.A. Rams to the Ravens in Week 7, has tallied an NFL-best three interception-touchdowns this season (two of which came with Baltimore). His five total interceptions in 2019 tie (five players) for the NFL’s third most.

“He’s a tremendous competitor and tremendous player. Just seeing the way that he worked every day something I always admired. Seeing how hard he worked, how high his football IQ was and how much he understood concepts and route patterns – that’s what makes him great.” – Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff

FB PATRICK RICARD (STARTER) – FIRST PRO BOWL Ricard is likely the NFL’s most versatile player. He is a rare twoway player, who sees time at both fullback and at defensive lineman. He earns his first Pro Bowl nod as a fullback after helping the Ravens to a No. 1 rank in the NFL in points (33.5) and rushing yards (204.9) per game. Ricard has been key in blocking for QB Lamar Jackson and RB Mark Ingram II and has hauled in eight catches for 47 yards and a touchdown.

T RONNIE STANLEY (STARTER) – FIRST PRO BOWL This marks the first Pro Bowl for Stanley, who has helped Lamar Jackson throw an NFL-best 36 touchdown passes and produce an NFL single-season record 1,206 rushing yards by a quarterback. He has been a key cog in a Baltimore offense that has set single-season franchise records for total touchdowns (62), points (503) and rushing yards (3,073).

S EARL THOMAS III – SEVENTH PRO BOWL This marks Thomas’ seventh overall Pro Bowl in his first season as a Raven. The veteran safety has tallied 49 tackles (32 solo), 1.5 sacks (the first of his career), two interceptions, four passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. “He’s a very tough guy to play against because of his instinctiveness and awareness. You have to really be careful with a guy like him. That kind of adds a dimension to the defense that makes them hard to prepare for, because he’ll do things against you that he won’t do against somebody else because of your tendencies.” – New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick

K JUSTIN TUCKER (STARTER) – THIRD PRO BOWL

G MARSHAL YANDA (STARTER) – EIGHTH PRO BOWL

Tucker, the most accurate kicker in NFL history at 90.6% (261 of 288 on field goal attempts), stands second in the NFL this season with a 96.0% success rate (24 of 25). In Week 6, Tucker became the fastest kicker in league history to reach the 1,000-point milestone, doing so in 118 games. He has connected on two game-winning FGs this season, first hitting a 46-yarder in overtime at Pittsburgh and then nailing a 49-yarder in driving rain/wind vs. San Francisco.

Considered one of the greatest players to ever wear a Ravens uniform, Yanda’s eight-career Pro Bowls rank as the fourth most in franchise history. “It all starts with Marshal Yanda. Marshal’s presence, day-in and day-out, just sets quite the tone. I can’t speak highly enough about how instrumental he’s been in the success we’ve had and how he’s been just unbelievably dominant.”

“Justin Tucker is spectacular. He’s the best in the NFL today, and if you’re the best in the NFL today, you’re one of the best of all time.”

– Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman

– Hall of Fame Kicker Jan Stenerud
