This offseason, the Baltimore Ravens invested $200,000 into Franklin Square Elementary/Middle to help transform and beautify the school. At the end of the 2022-23 school year, Steuart Hill Academy will permanently close, and students will be redistricted to Franklin Square Elementary/Middle. The Ravens chose this location to beautify the space and ease the transition for students. Alongside Heart of America, close to 200 volunteers, including Ravens staff, team president Sashi Brown, RB Gus Edwards, OLB Odafe Oweh, CB Marcus Peters, FB Pat Ricard and the entire 2022 rookie class took part in the restoration event. Throughout the day, volunteers refurbished the school’s gymnasium, computer lab, cafeteria, teachers’ lounge and hallways. Additionally, volunteers built an outdoor classroom, planted trees and painted outdoor murals. The Ravens’ signature project remains an annual commitment backed by the entire organization, to support the Baltimore community. Previous projects and renovation sites include Curtis Bay Elementary (2021), Edgecombe Circle Elementary (2020-21), Webster Kendrick Boys and Girls Club (2019), Douglass Homes (2018), Mary Ann Winterling Elementary (2017), Ravens Bookmobile (2016), Charles Carroll Barrister Elementary #34 (2015).
