The Baltimore Ravens (3-3) host the Cleveland Browns (2-4) for an AFC North showdown today from M&T Bank Stadium. This battle marks Baltimore’s fourth home game of the season and the second against a division foe. Under head coach John Harbaugh, Baltimore is 29-14 vs. the AFC North in games played in Charm City.
Along with Cincinnati (also 3-3), Baltimore sits atop the AFC North standings, but does hold a head-tohead tiebreaker over the Bengals after securing a Week 5 victory at home. The Browns, who have dropped three straight games after starting 2-1, are tied with Pittsburgh in the division, but do own a head-to-head tiebreaker after upending the Steelers in Week 3.
Baltimore leads the all-time series vs. Cleveland, 34-12. Under Coach Harbaugh, the Ravens are 23-5 vs. the Browns, including 12-2 at home. Baltimore has won four of its last five overall vs. Cleveland, splitting the 2021 series, with each team winning at home.
Baltimore fell last Sunday at NYG, 24-20, after holding a 20-10 early fourth-quarter lead. The Ravens never trailed until RB Saquon Barkley scored a 1-yard TD run with 1:43 remaining, which came on the heels of a QB Lamar Jackson INT (S Julian Love, returned to NYG’s 13-yard line) that occurred following a botched snap on thirdand-5 with just over 3 minutes to play. Baltimore got the ball back at the 1:43 mark with hopes of producing a gamewinning TD drive, but Jackson was stripsacked on the series’ second play, with

33 – Rushes gaining 10+ yards by the Ravens this season, with only Cleveland’s 34 such carries ranking more. Baltimore’s run game ranks sixth in the NFL, while Cleveland’s stands No. 1.
95.5
– Career sacks (including 2 this season) for DE Calais Campbell, who last Sunday at NYG started his 200th career game. Campbell is the NFL’s only active defender to record at least 200 starts in a career.
the Giants recovering the ball and then running out the clock. Baltimore racked up 406 yards of offense (including 211 rushing) and limited New York to 238 total yards. RB Kenyan Drake rushed for a game-high 119 yards and 1 TD, while TE Mark Andrews posted 7 catches for 106 yards and 1 TD. The Ravens’ defense sacked QB Daniel Jones four times, also limiting the Giants to just 155 net passing yards.

“He’s just never satisfied. That kind of mindset goes a long way.”
– John Harbaugh
duving it all
by dan horowitz
After being selected as the 2021 AFC Pro Bowl return specialist, Devin Duvernay delivered many shoutouts and expressed immense gratitude. Most notably, however, he ended his message with: “I want to leave my mark on this league and just continue to show other teams that I can be a threat.”
Less than one calendar year and several NFL Sundays later, Duvernay has the league on notice, and it’s as much more than a returner. Just as he aimed to continue showcasing his wide-ranging talents following his 2021 All-Pro campaign, Duvernay has become an all-encompassing threat –and a dangerous one at that.
Since entering the NFL in 2020, Duvernay has been one of the league’s most explosive returners. He ranks in the Top 10 in both average yards per kickoff return and average yards per punt return, while also posting two kickoff return touchdowns. Though his special teams impact has been indisputable throughout, his offensive impact has been viewed as largely untapped – until now.
This season, terms like “gamechanging” have been most closely linked with his abilities. Though the secret is out, his well-rounded skill set presents a problem for defenses to combat. Just ask Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
“He can definitely stretch and hit it vertically,” explained Belichick as his defense prepared to limit Duvernay in Week 3. “He’s got tremendous speed and can get to the edge. So, really, everything’s a problem. Yeah, he’s a problem – definitely a problem.”
Well, sure enough, Duvernay presented major issues for the Patriots in Baltimore’s 37-26 win at New England, recording a career-long 43-yard punt return and hauling in a contested four-yard touchdown grab on the ensuing possession.
Weeks later, in a full-circle moment, offensive coordinator Greg Roman revealed that he shared a special postgame conversation with Duvernay in the Patriots’ visiting locker room. “How much have you come along since the last time we were here [in 2020]?” Roman remembered asking Duvernay, in a partially rhetorical acknowledgement of his growth. “I’m really proud of what he’s doing, and I’m excited for him,” Roman followed up after recounting the conversation.
Through the young 2022 season, Duvernay’s portfolio has expanded each game, with coaches deploying his diverse talents in every which way. He’s caught passes and taken handoffs, lined up on the outside, in the slot and in the backfield, and run deep routes, intermediate routes and short routes – all while excelling in his role as the Ravens’ primary return specialist.
“Those are things that we felt like were in his skill set when we drafted him, but it usually takes some development in the National Football League,” head coach John Harbaugh mentioned, regarding Duvernay’s seemingly unconventional utilization. “He’s just never satisfied. That kind of mindset goes a long way.”
Duvernay has never been one to talk about himself or bask in the glory of his own success. His poker face is as good as it gets, but for one moment – one split second – he revealed something notable about his strong start to the season and what many assumed all along.
“It’s been really big for me,” he admitted with a grin, straying ever so slightly from the evenkeeled, never-too-high, never-toolow personality he’s demonstrated throughout his career. “But there’s more work to be done,” he added, snapping back into form.

Caw to action
On Monday, Oct. 3, the Baltimore Ravens hosted their fourth annual Caw to Action community day of service. Alongside the United Way of Central Maryland, the Ravens identified 40 charitable organizations throughout the area to host separate volunteer events. The day, which offered both virtual and in-person volunteer opportunities, allowed Ravens fans from across the country the ability to participate and give back!
Throughout the day, 21,000 volunteers participated in Caw to Action, totaling 3.6 million minutes of service, an NFL record for a single day of volunteering.
In addition to fan support, Ravens players participated in the day of

K Justin Tucker sorted books at the Maryland Book Bank, CB Marlon Humphrey and LB Patrick Queen sorted sports equipment at Leveling the Playing Field, and S Marcus Williams served food at Paul’s Place. Those players were joined by 13 of their teammates, including TE Nick Boyle, WR Demarcus Robinson and WR Tylan Wallace, at various sites.
Finally, nearly 100 Ravens staff members of the newly-created Ravens Volunteer Network answered their own Caw to Action at 18 different volunteer sites across Maryland, including special events at M&T Bank Stadium and the Under Armour Performance Center.
