Why Choose Bamba Experience for your Inca Trail? HIGHLIGHTS Alternative Trekking Routes to Machu Picchu Small groups (4-12 trekkers) for Bamba travellers only Experienced English-speaking Peruvian guides & local porters Quality camping equipment & delicious Peruvian-style meals
Book in Advance: In efforts to preserve the original structures of Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail, the Peruvian government has limited the number of people allowed in the sites to 500 trekkers, porters and guides allowed on the Inca Trail, 400 trekkers on Wayna Picchu and 2,500 visitors in Machu Picchu archaeological site per day. For this reason it is very important to book early (anywhere from 3-6 months in advance). Your correct passport information is required to obtain your trekking permit, and absolutely no changes or transfers are allowed.
Alternative Trekking Routes to Machu Picchu Salkantay Trek - Discover a pristine and less frequented side of the majestic Andes mountain range by taking this alternative route to Machu Picchu with up-close and-personal views of massive Salkantay and Humantay mountain peaks standing over 6,000 meters high in the Cordillera Vilcanota range, the highest in Peru. (View Page 23)
Andean mountains followed by trekking in the jungle through local mountain communities and an ultimate ending at Machu Picchu archaeological site. (View Page 24) Lares Trek - An authentic look into life in the Andean countryside with fascinating views of the local villages where people still live as the Incas used to in thatched stone houses. Watch locals shepherding their llamas and alpacas around glacier lakes at the base of snow capped mountains and peek into a local school. Award yourself with a visit to the majestic site of Machu Picchu with its breathtaking landscape. (View Page 25) Choquequirao Trek - An invigorating trek into the heights of the Vilcabamba mountain range with 4,500 meter-high passes where condors fly gracefully overhead and the most stellar archaeological sites in Peru, Choquequirao and Machu Picchu, sit nestled in the mountainside among the lush tropical jungle. Not in brochure, but it’s available, just ask your agent. Short on Time? Try a 1 or 2-day excursion to Machu Picchu by train on the Peru Railway for a relaxing and scenic journey to Aguas Calientes and the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu. While a one day visit is possible, we recommend staying overnight to enjoy the town and its pristine natural surroundings. (View Page 26)
