John Abraham (born 17 December 1972) is an Indian actor, film producer and former model who appears in Hindi films. After modelling for numerous advertisements and companies, he made his film debut with Jism (2003), earning a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut nomination. This was followed by his breakout antagonistic roles in the top-grossing action thriller Dhoom (2004), and in Zinda (2006), for which he received two Filmfare Best Villain Award nomination. Abraham was later critically praised for Water (2005) and Baabul (2006), the latter of which gained him a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award nomination.He subsequently established himself as a profitable actor with roles in huge successful films like Garam Masala (2005), Dostana (2008), New York (2009), Housefull 2 (2012), Race 2 (2013), Welcome Back (2015), Dishoom (2016), Parmanu (2018), Satyameva Jayate (2018) and Batla House (2019).
