SleepBox: Capsule Rest in Hi-Macs

The SleepBox is a surprising project designed by Caspar Lohner in collaboration with the Chair for Computer Aided Architectural Design [CAAD] , Department of Architecture, ETH Zurich.

SleepBox: Capsule Rest in Hi-Macs

The concept: a cocoon of relaxation and rest, a true refuge space dedicated to communal areas (offices, airports, etc.) and designed to escape the crowds and stress environment. Hull, smooth lines and fluid was performed with acrylic stone new generation Hi-Macs 速. It features a leather mattress for a break in comfort.

The Human Space Theory is an Architectural theory related to Human proportions and the related minimum required space; this theory was set and developed by Wissam Shekhani during his daily Architectural researches.

1. Space 1: The “Hemisphere” volume created by standard human heights having the fixed spot on ground as sphere center. 2. Space 2: The “Concave Conical” volume created by the sequence of human basic body movements.
