HOW WILL I LEARN? Bangor University’s media department has two key strengths, which makes us one of the UK’s most dynamic and creative media departments: • You may choose to integrate your academic and theoretical studies with hands-on creative practice. • The blend of expertise on offer, which offers our students opportunities in a range of different fields, from film, to journalism, to game design. This means that you will often find yourself sitting in a classroom studying with writers, animators, game designers, film makers, screenwriters and performers. We place emphasis on your creative exploration and critical understanding. Depending on your choice of course, you will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops and undertake practical and theoretical tasks. As you progress through the degree, much of your study will be done in small teaching groups with an emphasis on learning both group work skills and the ability to carry a piece of work through yourself from initial concept to completion.
