Banner Ă–QS accreditation At the beginning of May 2003, our organisation received accreditation according to ISOTS 16949:1999 and ISO 9001:2000 from Ă–QS Zertzifizierungs- und Begutachtungs GmbH. Following a six-day audit, we were presented with the appropriate certificate for our quality assurance system, which has been introduced and verified in line with EN ISO 9001:2000 and ISOTS 16949:1999. This means that Banner fulfils the stringent directives of the automotive industry.
Banner – the company Banner – a story of success In 1937, Artur Bawart founded a company in Rankweil/Vorarlberg, Austria. At that time, no one could have imagined that this enterprise would develop into one of the most successful in its field. Now, more than 66 years later, Banner can look back on a history of achievement, which is by no means at an end. Innovation Banner was and is a trendsetter. For example, in the starter battery area with the Uni Bull, the battery with patented ACCUSAFE leakage protection, which fits more than 900 car models. In addition, the company sets new benchmarks in the battery management sector with its new calcium/calcium technology. Last, but by no means least, Banner has attracted great attention with a steady flow of new developments in the AGS (industrial and traction batteries) field with traction and stand-by batteries. Employees The high qualifications and motivation of the Banner work force are a guarantee for top know-how and outstanding customer advantages. An extensive range of training and the willingness of the company personnel to undertake lifelong learning ensure that this knowledge is constantly expanded and maintained at the very latest level. Safety Even the most ingenious innovation is impractical if personal and environmental safety is neglected. Accordingly, for Banner, safety is the most important prerequisite for the development of new products. Service and maintenance Service and maintenance is an interface to the customer and in many cases, the factor that decides product success or failure. As in many other areas, Banner has adopted fresh approaches in this field (rental system, service packages), which lead directly to the clientele.
Bannner AGS – the driving force
Traction batteries – Trac Bull Nass The Trac Bull Nass is a lead-acid battery containing liquid electrolyte. It is employed wherever long life cycle, great reliability, high performance and cycle resistance are required. Applications Electric vehicles and all types of motors
The Trac Bull Nass is powerful, economic and environment-friendly and is suitable for an extensive range of applications.
- Forklifts - Sweeping machines - Lifting platforms - Special applications, e.g. AGVs - automated guided vehicle systems, skids
Option: filling system In order to automatically refill the water consumed in the electrolysis process, Banner Trac Bull batteries can be fitted with a filling system that guarantees fast, safe and clean topping up. This filling system reduces the servicing requirement and prolongs battery life. Option: electrolyte circulation In the case of extreme loads, a pump module ensures homogenous mixing during charging, which prevents electrolyte and temperature stacking. In practical terms, this means up to 20% less energy demand, charging times that are up to 30% shorter and cuts in water consumption of up to 80%.
Traction batteries. Trac Bull Gel An ingenious technical idea opens up a wide range of applications for Banner traction batteries. This involves the binding of the electrolyte in a gel. As a result, the battery is absolutely maintenancefree and leak-proof, while gasification during running is extremely low. It is these characteristics that make the Trac Bull Gel suitable for special tasks. These include areas of utilisation demanding cleanliness and hygiene in combination with zero maintenance. It is under such conditions that gel batteries offer optimum performance and safety.
Applications Similar to the Trac Bull Nass, but especially in the hygiene and foods sectors: - Automated guided vehicle systems, skids - Hand elevating trucks - Sweeping machines - Stationary power supply in closed rooms, e.g. in the pharmaceutical industry or in cold stores
Traction batteries – Trac Bull Bloc GiS The Trac Bull Bloc GiS with liquid electrolyte is a powerful, reasonably priced alternative to conventional drive batteries. What the Trac Bull Nass is on a large scale, is the Trac Bull Bloc GiS in miniature. Consequently, it is mainly found in the small traction area. The Trac Bull Bloc GiS employs grid plate technology, extremely strong positive and negative plates in a special alloy being wrapped in a double layer of glass wool. The result is a cycleresistant, maintenance-free and durable block battery with high performance for a wealth of uses in the small traction field. Applications - Small stackers - Lifting platforms - Electric vehicles - Cleaning machines - Golf carts - Solar power systems
Traction batteries – Trac Bull Bloc DB The Trac Bull Bloc DB employs gel technology and is especially suitable for tricky tasks in the small traction sector. The bedding of the electrolyte in gel prevents electrolyte escapes and prevents the problem of acid stacking. The use of recombination technology (the decomposition of water is almost entirely compensated for by the recombination of water on the positive plate) means that the service life of the battery is not affected by water losses. The closed battery system prevents electrolyte leakage, while minimum self-discharge ensures that the maintenance-free Trac Bull Gel can be stored for longer than conventional lead-acid batteries.
Applications - Golf caddies - Lifting platforms - Cleaning machines - Automated guided vehicle systems - Camping/caravans - Wheelchairs - Marine - Safety lighting - Solar power systems
Banner AGS – the driving force
Stand-by batteries – GiV bloc, GiVC bloc Stand-by batteries from Banner are a reliable energy source and fulfil two basic functions, providing power when: - The primary electricity supply fails - Voltage fluctuations or peaks occurr These batteries are characterised by safety derived from high-quality materials, the latest technology and state-of-the-art production methods. Banner offers stand-by types in block or individual cell versions.
Applications - UPS units - Fire alarm systems - Medical systems - Model construction - Measurement and instrumentation technology - Safety lighting
Applications - Golf caddies - Motor caravans - E-scooters - Rehabilitation technology
GiV bloc The GiV bloc employs AGM technology, using special, thin, fibreglass web separators, soaked in electrolyte. As a result of the combination of liquid electrolyte and the lasting insulation of the electrodes from one another, the battery can be operated in any position without loss of capacity. GiV bloc batteries are used in both large systems, where power losses are unacceptable, as well as in communications technology for central and decentralised units. GiVC bloc GiVC bloc batteries utilise gel technology and hence bound-in electrolyte. They are employed in the leisure and rehabilitation areas, and as opposed to the GiV bloc, are also used as a power source in the small traction sector.
Large systems – Stand By Bull For our safety These batteries are genuine, stationary emergency power batteries for large areas of relevance to safety. They ensure a constant flow of electricity, even in the case of a failure in the primary power supply. A differentiation is made between four areas of application: ■ Large computer systems ■ Safety systems (alarm systems, emergency exits) ■ Solar systems, diesel starting systems for emergency generators ■ Emergency systems (switchgear, transmitters) The types Banner offers the Stand By Bull in four various technologies for differing applications:
