performance, low self-discharge and maximum safety. Linz, September 22nd 2015. The new lithium jump starters from the Austrian battery specialist Banner come in two versions and cover every type of vehicle employing a 12V or 24V battery. The 12V Banner lithium jump starter is used in motorcycles, cars, SUVs, small vans and boats with four- and six-cylinder engines, and 12V electrical systems. The 24V version is employed in boats, trucks, construction industry vehicles, buses and agricultural machines with engines of up to approx. 13,000 cc and 24V electrical systems. Günther Lemmerer, the Banner Batteries Marketing Manager: “With the Banner 12V and 24V lithium jump starters we are consciously targeting professional users such as workshops, automotive clubs and transport companies. This is our clear response to a market flooded with cheap lithium boosters of which the majority are unsuitable for professional use. These cheap devices offer only low output and limited performance at low temperatures, and also lack important safety features such as overload shutdown.”
One step ahead of the market By contrast, in its lithium jump starters Banner utilises the latest LiFePO4 and LiPO batteries for maximum safety and can thus promise a long service life. Electronic protection prevents short circuits, reverse polarity and overloads. Günther Lemmerer “In addition we have tested the devices under the toughest conditions at Banner. Every attempted start was successful even under wintry conditions and with our lithium boosters large construction machines started absolutely problem-free in low temperatures.”

Media info A further technical highlight of the 12V booster is the plain text display, which is easy-to-read, and animated. The display offers step-by-step instructions for vehicle starting in a choice of English, German or French and is virtually unique in the branch. In the 24V version, this display is replaced by LEDs and in addition to a bright LED working light, the device is fitted with an integrated USB outlet for the charging of laptops or tablets.
The lithium booster in ultra-compact design can be used at temperatures as low as -20°C, and with its minimal weight is around 80 per cent lighter than standard devices using lead batteries. In addition, lithium boosters score due to very low self-discharge (approx. 70% charging status even after two years) and quicker recharging capacity than that provided by conventional devices with lead batteries.
The Banner 12V and 24V lithium jump starters will be available from the middle of October 2015 complete with fully insulated clamps, a 12V outlet, USB outlet and adapter, and a storage bag.
