Power NEws 01/13 Banner among the best. Thanks to a brand strategy that has been employed systematically for the past 75 years, Banner now numbers among Europe’s best-known battery brands. This fact is also confirmed by the latest reader surveys completed by the German specialist magazines “auto motor und sport” (Best Brands - No. 7/2013) and “AutoBild” (Best Brands – No. 10/2013) in which the Banner brand twice occupied an excellent third place.
First fitter for Cart Care and Goldhofer. Cart Care and Goldhofer AG represent new additions to our list of OEMs. The German electrical vehicle and golf cart supplier, Cart Care Company GmbH, now has three types of Traction Bull Bloc battery in its programme. Moreover, since September 2012, the German transport specialist, Goldhofer, has been using Banner batteries for its airport technology and modular vehicles.

Today, virtually all European car producers employ original batteries with a height of 190mm. As opposed to the 175mm-batteries, which are now used less frequently, the 190 versions offer greater power and better charge acceptance. Therefore, wherever possible, retrofitting should take place with the “higher” battery, which is better able to accommodate the demands of vehicle electrical systems. • The capacity of retrofitted batteries must at least correspond with that of the originals. • The Power Bull series is the first choice for replacement batteries in modern vehicles without a start/stop function. Above all, the strongest possible battery is recommended should additional power consumers have been retrofitted.
Power Bull PROfessional. With a height of 190mm, the new Power Bull PROfessional batteries are identical with the originals from VW and BMW. The increased volume of electrolyte in these powerful batteries provides improved charging characteristics and optimized cyclical behaviour, which means that the effects of deep discharge first occur much later. As compared to the previous Power Bull types, the PROfessional series offers higher capacities with 63Ah, 75Ah and 100Ah.
ADAC breakdown statistics 2012 Every third breakdown in 2012 related to a defective or discharged battery. And according to ADAC, it is not the battery, but the car manufacturers who are to blame. The ADAC refers to “deficits regarding concepts for vehicle electrics management.” Moreover, the head of breakdown statistics, Helmut Schmaler, is quoted in a report as stating that: “The battery itself is not the problem but in the meantime, there are numerous control devices, drive-away locks and alarms, and the manufacturers are yet to find the right answers. In general, difficulties do not arise in premium brands, but small cars with simple technology. Therefore, when making a purchase, drivers should opt for more expensive quality brands and forget the cheap offers.”
