Katherine Hot Springs You don’t need to go too far out of Katherine for this simple way to relax and enjoy the surrounds. Located just minutes from the Victoria Highway running through the middle of Katherine, the hot springs are located on the side of the Katherine River.

Edith Falls Located within the Nitmiluk National Park, Edith Falls is home to some wonderful camping spots, or just stop for the day and walk some of the Jatbula Trail and have a swim (the size of the lower pool at the base of Edith Falls is amazing). The Leliyn Trail is a steep and rocky 2.6km walk with a chance to stop for a swim in the upper pool of Leliyn/Edith Falls, while there is also a 9km return walk to Sweetwater Pool where you can relax around the swimming hole.

Nitmiluk Gorge is just under a half hr drive from the town of Katherine, and from here you can check out a range of lookouts and photography spots including Baruwei Lookout, Southern Rockhole, and Butterfly Gorge. Take some time to spot the local wildlife or join in on a ranger-guided activity.
