Stress Inventory

Stress Inventory - Client information Often it is an accumulation of stressors and problems that lead to the symptoms experienced by people with stress-related complaints. Often people can no longer see the source of their stress but view it as a threatening whole that creates tension. This can lead to avoidance behavior. Making a list of all your problems can help you to get an overview, and can lead to a sense of manageability. You can also use the list to begin identifying points for taking action. Instructions    

 

Make a list of 5 – 7 issues that have contributed to your situation (fill in inventory form 1 below) These can be work-related issues or issues related to other areas of your life Include both major problems and minor irritations The list should contain specific problems; do not include generalities such as „work‟ or „my customers‟ but describe specific situations like: “my manager comments on how I…., and I feel uncomfortable because he is not clear in what he wants” or “customer X always wants work done by yesterday, despite the fact that I have asked them to contact me earlier in the process” or “if I come home from work at night, my son has…..” Begin to identify how you can address the problems that you can influence (fill in form 2 below) Finally, consider the problems that lend themselves to immediate action, and determine which problems are suitable for future action and which difficulties cannot be changed.
