By this time, the skills curated from her time at university has shown a high level and quality driven output that is recognised by both her peers and tutors. Clare exemplifies a broad way of thinking that is reflected in her creative approach to work, of which she plans to further demonstrate through her employment opportunities. Her exposure to the urban design realm in particular, is also shaped by her interest in creating more accessible and responsive spaces through collaborative effort. This was developed in her engagement with PTW Architects in an interdisciplinary project where she was able to develop her collaboration skills even further by learning how to listen and adapt her way of thinking according to the team members in order to best cater towards a better output.

Praised to students who demonstrate extensive design skills ranging from urban analysis and masterplan proposals to conceptual or environmentally conscious architectural designs. Those within the catalogue were recognised as a part of the top twenty projects in the graduating cohort.

Nomination for Shape Exhibition (2017)

Awarded to students who, in association with the Powerhouse Museum, demonstrate exemplary 2017 HSC major design project from subjects including Design and Technology, Industrial Technology and Textiles and Design, alongside a final HSC mark of 90 or greater when calculated after the end of year exams.

Design and Technology Academic Achievement Award (2016 - 2012)

Awarded to students who rank first in the designated subject across the entire cohort, and as such has maintained grades within the top 10% of the class and exemplified projects showcasing creative design skills, building knowledge and innovative problem solving.

Designed for the landscape in the Hunter Valley regions, this winery celebrates the materiality of concrete and timber whilst creating a unique scenic experience for the users.

Urban masterplan proposal for a better future of the existing and anticipating residents of Leppington, addressing the lack of consideration towards past and present stories of country and suburb.

Terrace renovation informed by council regulations and drawing standards, underpinning the significance of housing heritage and the program possibilities within restricted sites.

Motivated by the intention to improve the indoor environmental quality of the office, this workspace design contributes to the productivity of the employees and overall well being.

University facility that accomodates students with a flexible design that enables those who require temporary stay a bedroom alongside a space to relax and help their mental state.

Collage of physical models that were produced to aid the interpretation and understanding of designs, concepts and construction techniques throughout the feedback process.


1.0 AUDREY WILKINSON WINERY This winery was completed as a collaborative project with colleague Carla Alkhouri, located in the Hunter Valley region and replaces the existing Audrey Wilkinson Winery, offering hilltop views of the surrounding vineyards and open landscape. It encourages visitor engagement through the inclusion of courtyards that provide an additional incentive for people to stay and visually enjoy the vineyard landscape. The structural system reflects a celebration of concrete being a load bearing element where the usage extends right from the slab, to the walls and to the roof system.

A single rectangular tile that gives the impression of the chosen site being that there is an existing building.

2.0 LEPPINGTON LANDSCAPE ‘Leppington Landscape’ is a masterplan project stemmed from the intention to re-ignite the existing or latent oral history stories that could otherwise be lost as a part of justification behind mass neoliberal infrastructure projects. It aims to achieve this through re-distributing development to encourage active movement in a manner that respects the significant Aboriginal sites along the creeks (including the re-introduction of Aboriginal agriculture and opportunities for ceremony) and that allows the existing agricultural landscapes to be retained for the use and appreciation of all.

Proposal Masterplan Leppington Station

ABORIGINAL AGRICULTURE This area was created in respect of the high sensitivity classified Aboriginal significance that is associated with the land. As such, it is deemed appropriate that the space be used to re-introduce Aboriginal agricultural practices that are considered to contribute towards Australia’s own agricultural future.

COMMUNITY GARDEN Intended to provide all residents an opportunity to engage themselves with the agricultural stories and existing landscape of Leppington and build upon a sense of active community efforts and collaborations. The gardens are prepped with plantation beds, composting systems, and pedestrians and delivery access.

WALKABILITY / CYCLABILITY The bicycle lanes are to encourage active movement coming from the major centre into the open spaces of Leppington. The Wianna-Matta Walk is a public pedestrian incentive for more activity beyond the major centre, following the directional flow of the creek enabling the public to appreciate the existing landscape.

3.0 ST PETERS TERRACE This terrace was completed as a collaborative project with colleague Jasmine Phaktham, located in the St Peters suburb of Sydney, as a reconstruction proposal of the existing housing unit owned by an architectural couple. As such this process required the approval of an application form, lodgement checklist, statement of environmental effects accompanied with a BASIX Report, and the necessary DA Drawings including the site plan and analysis, proposed plan drawings, elevation drawings and cross section drawings.

4.0 WILKINSON WORKSPACE This project was informed by an indoor environmental quality (IEQ) assessment and using the conclusions drawn from this assessment to propose a new activity based workspace catered for a law firm. As such the necessary graphical data including thermal comfort, illuminance level and sound pressure level were conducted, alongside the personal control systems that were available. Both levels of the design maximised the opportunity to provide the law firm employees the choice of choosing their desired microenvironment for their specific work task in order to increase their individual productivity.

1 Group meeting room located within the open workspace encourages collaborative work. Thermal comfort consideration is shown via the air conditioning provided specifically for the room with its corresponding local control panel at the entrance of the space (7.5 fitwel). The vertical timber columns acting as the opening wall of the room, allow the fresh air (15 WELL Building) to enter the space provided that the operable window coming from the team workspace is open and is circulated by the ceiling fan.

2 The angled window that frames the existing atrium provides enough daylight to give the occupants relevance to the time of day in relation to their circadian rhythms, but at the same time the window should be able to also reduce the potential heat gain of the space from the skylight atrium (16 WELL Building) as well.

3 The vegetation wall that surrounds the atrium is meant to help ease the stress indusive environment as a means to prioritise occupancy mental health to increase productivity (88 WELL Building, 100 WELL Building and 7.2 fitwel) and act as a cooling and air purifying system.

4 The materiality of the stone internal cladding along with the respective insulation and masonry wall system, regulates the thermal conditions by minimising the heat transfer between the external climate of Sydney and the indoor climate of the workspaces, and acts as an effective thermal mass for the building.

5 The print room positioned between the workspace zone and the reception/visitors lounge is intended to be a social space that engages conversation amongst employees whilst also encouraging the need to move away from the desk (75 WELL Building). The dual entrances provide an open circulation path for all occupants and the vertical timber columns create a semi enclosed space (89 WELL Building).

6 Collaborative space contains two windows; one that is fixed with double glazing, and one that is operable with transparent horizontal louvres that can be opened to receive fresh air and increase the overall ventilation of the entire workspace (15/19 WELL Building) whilst also contributing to the cooling of the space (16 WELL Building). Windows also helps with the need of views to nature (7.2 fitwel standard), which intends to aid the mental health of occupants. 1 The use of external shading device of a fixed overhang is implemented in order to block the high angled sun from entering the space and disrupting user producivity. This is alongside ensuring that no additional heat from the external climate of Sydney increase the room temperature to be uncomfortable for the employees.

2 A partition shelf is added in the case where computer screens are facing the windows as to deflect glare without blocking cross ventilation from one side of the room to the other. This shelf also operates as a divider between the workspace and more communal area facing towards the north western windows overlooking the main roads, thus creating a subtle noise barrier.

3 The materiality of the stone internal cladding along with the respective insulation and masonry wall system, regulates the thermal conditions by minimising the heat transfer between the external climate of Sydney and the indoor climate of the workspaces, and acts as an effective thermal mass for the building. This is in addition to contributing to the overall aesthtics of the office by proviiding a sense of texture to the spaces.

4 The integration of indoor plants to increase access to natural elements within the workspace is intended to reduce stress and improve the mental state of the users (7.2 Fitwel Standard) while also naturally dehumidifying the air, of which additionally improve occupant experience. This is on top contributing towards the overall aesthetic features of the office.

5 Operable louvered glass windows are used to allow for maximum air flow where occupants can control via adjustable blades.The windows are positioned vertically spanning from the working plane to the ceiling so as to improve the daylight factor while allowing light to reach the desks at a steeper angle, light diffusion and improve view of the horizon; in addition to providing “stack effect” during still days. 6 Double glazing is used to prevent heat transfer from the surrounding atmosphere compared to low-E glass which is more effective in areas exposed to direct sunlight. Curved Staircase Connection between the two levels positioned directly at the entrance of level four without disrupting pedestrian flow or fitness of which is encouraged by the biophelia and bike presence.

Conference Room A temporary collaborative space that engages conversation and many different legal representatives and clients, with the respective controlled lighting and noise elements that assist the function.


Semi Enclosed Activity Based Workspace Evidence of semi enclosed spaces that provide a balance of collabration or the optional individual work that law firm employees can maximise according to their necessary tasks.

Collaborative Activity Based Workspace Combination of different furniture and workplace settings encourage multitudes of collaboration and discussions between law firm employees working on client specific cases.


5.0 UNIVERSITY FACILITY As a collaborative project with colleague my Carla Alkhouri, this university facility was a combination of separate initial design schemes with a user profile of students who wish to enjoy their break/s between lectures or tutorials. However, this facility additionally plans to give students a temporary room or a place to stay over-night if needed. As such this influenced the development of three separate programs that ultimately shaped the kind of activities and spaces that the facility offered including forms of relaxation, loud and proactive venues, and temporary residental rooms.

6.0 MODEL MAKING Making models is a part of every design process as it allows for an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the materials, construction and design of the project. It is from this that it provides a more tangible interpretation of the work being presented whether that be conceptual, site related or an explanation of building technologies. As such various model were curated and demonstrate skills of attention to detail, understanding of site and scale, and overall communication skills.
